Great game! Must have for any Wii owner! September 20, 2008 This game is an absolute blast. I own the Nintendo DS version of this game, and I loved it, but I love the Wii version even more - who can say no to more characters, more karts, and more tracks? The new tracks are brilliant, with colorful visuals and interesting interactions. Now, the graphics aren't anything like that of a PS3 or a XBOX 360, but you bought a Wii - what do you expect? Nintendo has always focused on fun, family-friendly gameplay and revolutionary controls and gameplay, and this game excells in all of these categories. The Wi-Fi support is much better than that of the DS: you can now download and race ghosts from around the world on time-trials and compete in tournaments that resemble the challenge-mode in the DS version. The great thing about the ghosts is that the computer will automatically pick for you "rival ghosts" which are people who have just a few seconds better than you on time. You can also view your rankings on time trials up against people from all over the world on an easy to read scatterplot graph. The only thing I didn't like about Mario Kart Wii was that I had extreme difficulty with the Wii Wheel, and ended up using the nunchuck with the Wiimote (which works extremely well for me). But I don't know how this is for other people: it could be just me. Also, this game can get very difficult and frustrating at times, but not so much that it makes the game less fun. But be prepared to get hit by up to five blue (spiked) shells in one race! Overall, great fun, and a fun game to play with other people (although we usually end up cursing like sailors as we get knocked of cliffs and hit by shells - both by the CPU and each other). If you own a Wii and want a good, fun multiplayer game, you need to buy this.
Great Wii game!! September 19, 2008
I bought this game for my grandchildren and it was so much fun we bought another one.
Fun, Easy good for all ages September 19, 2008 This game is not the most challenging but is great for kids and slow moving adults. Easy to get started. Good fun graphics.
love love love it!!!!!!!!! September 18, 2008 I love this game. I'm not a huge gamer, all of a sudden we decided to get a wii, and I don't like games where I can die, be hunted or need to hide. So driving works nicely for me! I will say it brings out my....angry side. I yell and curse a lot and probably scare the crap out of my neighbors. But its a really fun game to play with my boyfriend or my parents!! Next thing I know my dad just HAD to have mario kart after playing it at our house. So now we're totally going to have to play in the worldwide section with each other, even though we're in different states which is an awesome feature. Yay for mario kart!!
funtastic game September 18, 2008 Mario kart is a funtastic game, the steering with the wheel feels very realistic and makes it even more fun than just the use of a controller.
