Give it two months -- either the battery will fail or it will kill your wii remote. August 4, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Find every other one-star rating - there is a recurring consistency here. The problems may not start the day you buy it, but this product is trash.
Great! August 3, 2008 This is a great product! It definitely saves a lot on batteries. I get quite a lot of playing time before I need to charge the remote again.
There are just two things I would suggest. 1) If you could make it a little easier to take out the charge packs? 2) It would be great if there were different colors available.
Thanks!
Could use slight improvements August 1, 2008 Being the only product of its kind made by a reputable manufacturer that I have found, the Nyko Wii Remote charging stand wins first place in a race field of one.
It has built-in contact points, and offers a sleek solution to what could be a rather cumbersome process of buying the batteries and the chargers, and removing them every so often to charge them.
My main complaints: 1) You can't leave the remote skins on during charging. They won't fit in the stand with any sort of skin or case. 2) The rubberized backplate is FUGLY. 3) The remotes are not securely snapped into the station to maintain a connection with the contacts. If you don't set it down carefully, ensuring that it is stable, the remote will wobble away from the contact point and not charge. 4) You must take care to move the wrist straps aside to charge. The last thing I want to do after a long Wii session is tuck the remote in. I want to just set it and forget it.
So Worth It! July 31, 2008 I recently purchased this and have also bought two additional battery packs. It works tremendously well - I have yet to run out of battery power with it. We make sure the remotes are in the station and when we play the Wii, we take them out and once we are done - we put them back in the station. It is sure savings us money in batteries. I am very pleased with it and would recommend this highly to anyone.
Stopped Working After 6 Months July 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Worked great for 6 months and then slowly stopped charging. I suspect it is because of the location of the contacts. They are on the back of the battery and sweat from your hands can corrode the contacts. I tried cleaning the contacts with alcohol, but eventually the unit stopped charging.
