Delivers sonic to a new generation... at a price. May 11, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game collection is just what a new generation of gamers needs: a pile of good classics as they were meant to be played. I detest how there are less unlockable games than the japanese version, so it might be a good idea to get the japanese one if you like to unlock games. I also hate having to unlock games many times if I don't have a memory card, but I guess that's a problem with all game collections. Before buying this you should really consider how hard it would be to get the originals cartridges and an emulator (to play them legally on your PC). Note to the buyer: If you like this game collection you are missing out on "Sonic CD" which was a remake of the first Sonic game with many times more levels since there are past, present, and future versions of each. Sonic CD is also available on Gamecube as part of the "Sonic Gems Collection", but buyer beware that "Sonic Gems Collection" contains mostly Gamegear versions of said games and is generally not worth the money since the Gamegear versions were inferior in many ways. Still, if you are willing to buy the game this review is for, then you should check out the other half of the collection which is known as "Sonic Gems Collection" for the sake of completeness.
Great Older Sonic Games January 18, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my daughter for christmas and she loves it. It has the older games on it. This is the reason she wanted it. Hours of Fun. Great Price for the collection. Thanks Mom
If you have a Wii, you NEED this game! January 6, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you are a fan of Sonic, and you own a Wii, buy this game right away, because it pays for itself. With the Virtual Console that is included on the Wii, Genesis games cost $8 a piece. This game includes 12 games on the disc, many of which are already available in the Virtual Console shop, so it makes sense to pay only $20, as opposed to a potential $96 (if you bought all of the games on the Wii). If you down't already own a Gamecube, chances are you don't have a controller, so if you want to play this game on the Wii, you'll need to buy one. Even so, this game is a great addition to any game collection.
Thank you SO much Sega!!!!! June 10, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Oh my gosh! I can't beleive Sega actually made this game with Sonic 2! My sister Asra loved Sonic 2 when our uncle gave the Genesis to us, with Sonic 2! Asra and I were crazy about this Genesis game. It was so fun. Now my sister was happy to see Sonic Mega Collection had Sonic 2. She was happy because our Genesis went dead(I think. It somehow got frozen). I was also happy to see Sonic 3! THANK YOU SOO MUCH SEGA!!!!! ^_^
THE BEST SEGA GAME EVER! January 29, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is so great! My favorite game that is in this series is Sonic The Hegehog 2 this is also the best game in the series. I can remember in 2002 when I got my gamecube I was in need of a good sonic game so I bought Sonic Adventure 2. Then Sonic games were the best! When Christmas came I needed another Sonic game so I asked for this one. It was so much fun! I still enjoy it. Once you buy this youll never want to sell it. I also love Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine. All of the games on here are great. So why are Flicky and Ristar on this? Flicky is on this because in Sonic 3D Blast you save the Flickies. Ristar is on this because that is almost what Sonic was supposed to be. Only instead of a star he was going to be a rabbit with strechy ears.
