1 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed...   July 6, 2008

I am so mad I traded in about ten games and paid $[...] for this game. I was so excited to go home and play it and immediately I was crushed. I have played and won most all of the racing games NFS's, PGR's, World Racing's, rallies, Midnight Clubs, Forzas, etc. Never had a problem....

This game would have been great if one could actually handle the cars. Maybe this is for Pros only. I put the difficulty level on basic and I can still barely win a race. Go off the road a little bit and it is pretty much an automatic 360 spin out. Then you have the annoyance of being told that your car damage is only minor and in fact for example you cannot even steer your car. Other times being told a driver had blown an engine and then a few minutes later this same driver spins out. How is he still driving? Then says a certain driver is in first place and he is not even close to it. So I turned his sound off. When changing paint colors in the garage the door is open and there is a glare so you can't tell really good how well your car will look. Stupid. I have yet to see much variety in the courses unless they are on the higher up levels of racing.

I have to admit the game looks nice but I wouldn't waste money on this one...wait to get it in the bargain bins.

I highly recommend that you try before you buy this game. I picked up a copy the day it came out. Played it for 3 straight days and the experience was rather ho-hum.

It's positive attributes first.

PROS:
It has a full cockpit view (something Forza Motorsport 2 lacks)

CONS:
Crashes in this game were supposedly "revolutionary." See one crash in this game the excitement is gone. There's nothing revolutionary about them.

Virtually no customization of cars. You can achieve a few measly upgrades and that's all.

The graphics in this game looked phenomenal in the screenshots. Personal experience however was very disappointing.

My biggest gripe, multiplayer. Online play is boring. Little user community. Hard to find rooms to play in that are racing the type of race you want.

I would recommend that your rent this game from the video/game store before you decide to plunk down any money. I ended up trading my copy in.

By far the most stunning looking game on the 360. The graphics are one of the biggest stunners of this game . The gameplay is insanely addicting. There are flaws in the game where it looks like the screen may glitch every now and then, nothing big. Best racing game on the 360!

3 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware   June 10, 2008

First off, I love racing games. I have been anticipating this game as soon as I heard a mere mention of the game, GRID.

The game hails from the makers of DIRT. How more great can it get?

Pros:
Great Visuals. Not {Jaw Dropping} like I thought would be.
Nice Interface/Menu System
Great number of tracks/locations
Great number of cars

Cons:
You slip and slide so much that you almost want to throw your controller at the TV.The cars seem to have not enough traction. AARRG!

A mere "bump" from another car and your sliding into a 360 surrounded by smoke and dust from the track. UUUGH. Meanwhile, the rest of the other cars race along out of sight.

You will experience 1-3 second freezes during the race.
Have you ever played a complex game on a laptop and the laptop wasn't powerful enough to give you a {smooth} gaming experience? Well, this is what happens during your races. It so slight, but it's consistent, like 2-4 freezes per race. (Maybe they are working on a patch update)

While driving, your crew chief is constantly in your ear about someone crashing or wiping out ahead of you or behind you. (this is a personal issue with me, I would like to have had the option to turn him off)

I am really dissapointed. This game is a total let-down.

Save your money and rent first as I wish I had

5 out of 5 stars Just beautiful, and fun!   June 7, 2008

This is a gorgeous game, the most photorealistic racer out there for the 360. The handling is very much like PGR, arcade-style but with the added bonus of very realistic vehicle damage. I have experienced no framerate issues as mentioned before, in fact I was pleasantly surprised at the solid framerate even with multiple vehicles onscreen. Try open-wheel racing with the behind-the-dash view and you will be absolutely blown away.
