Cooler Master 690 August 30, 2008 I have built two other computers with this case.It has all the room in it for just about any components you want to put in it.Its easy to work inside of the case, and you really don't need any tools to mount the hardware.Wiring is easy with no clutter and plenty of fan mounts up to seven. It comes with three, front, side and rear which is all you really need unless you are OCing and need to move more air over the board. The instrs are plain and simple to set up.I like the price for this case,by the way its a midtower case with no power supply,I'm using a Coolermaster 750 watts psu with it.
Great case for a new builder June 27, 2008 This case was great for a new builder, plenty of room, plenty of screws, and a lot of cooling. I disliked the plastic PCI card retainers, they made it somewhat difficult to get my GPU in. Once it was in everything went great. Very interesting cable management as well.
Sweet June 17, 2008 I was over-impressed with this box. It had tons of space, and a great layout. I installed 5 low-speed 140mm fans in this thing and it keeps everything cool annd quiet. Plus I didn't have to pay for shipping, which is a steal!
Look no further! June 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Look no further for a great gaming case! The case is well rounded in features - comprable to Cooler Master's $200+ cases. Sturdy, excellent ventillation, and practically noiseless fans, to boot. This is my first Cooler Master case, and definitely is the nicest one I've built into in the last 10 years. In effort to not sound like a blubbering fanboy, I'll mention some points:
1) I was hesitant about the bottom mounted PSU, but it turned out my PC Power & Cooling 610 fit just fine. In fact, I was impressed that the mobo tray had holes near the bottom that allowed me to route the SATA HDD power cables between the mobo tray and the back panel, neatly hiding them out of the way.
2) The HDD mounting system seemed flimsy at first. However, the trays do have screw holes and the case comes with plenty of screws conveniently attached to the 5.25" cage (no hunting for the screw baggie if I want to do a Bluray drive or more HDD's!) After screwing 2 screws to each of the HDD brackets and the HDD's, the whole setup felt secure and solid. Going back to my first point above, the HDD setup is quite slick in that it puts your HDD cables in the back of the case and out of the way.
3) The front fan's power connector (blue one in the product picture) was too short to reach any power source on my Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R!! While some people might be in a Nintendo64-kid-inspired-freakout (just youtube N64 kid) and couldn't be bothered to abate their frenzy, I found it trivial to pop off the front, reposition the fan, and be on my way. Alternatively, one could use a power adapter from the PSU.
4) After installing an Intel e8400, 4gb pc8000 g.skill ram, 2x250gb seagates in RAID0, nVidia 8800gt, Vista, and OC'ing the bad boy to 4.0ghz (8.0*500mhz with ease!), I decided to try out the top mounted connectors. They all work just fine, and are really handy for me since I can now lay my usb devices on top of the case while they are plugged in. ***Minor bad mark:*** The headphone/mic connector seem cheaply manufactured. My headphone/mic plugs stick out of their inputs about 1~2mm, which seems to randomly trigger Vista to tell me "an audio device has been unplugged/plugged in". Not a deal breaker, and I'm not 100% sure what the root of the problem is, but it is worth noting.
Ok! That's it!
An unexpected surprise. June 16, 2008 I needed a case, and bought this one on a whim. I was on [...] it looked cool, checked amazon and they had it for cheaper. What I didn't realize is how awsome this case would be!! Or how much effort Cooler Master would put into this case. I know Cooler master was a decent brand, but they have far exceeded expectations. Here are some of the cooler features.
Pros 1. Hard drives face perpendicular to case (reason I bought the case) 2. everything in this case is screwless except the motherboard, power supply , fans and sidepanel (which uses hand screws) 3. Even though the cd bays are screwless, cooler master screwed in screws up and down the cd bay bracket, just in case you want the option. 4. Have you ever had to run a cord from the inside of your case to the outside? Cooler master has you covered, there are little rubber waste gates that you can run a cord though, and make the case still look professional! 5.There is a nice foam bracket around where the power supply makes contact with the case. And as you can see the power supply is at the bottom. Taking advantage of airflow. 6. This thing can handle 7 fans. 8.The whole front and top, is a wire mesh, with foam behind it, for optimal air flow. 9. There is plenty of room on the inside of this case to work with. 10. The built in cable managment system is really nice, I have always had a problem with cable managment, this made it very easy and clean!
Cons: 1. It came with screws to screw into the metal tray to rest the Mobo on, but not motherboard screws to screw the mobo into those. 2. It does not have a tray where you can pull the mobo/processor/ and addon cards out seperate from the case. 3. The usb port on the top gives me slow speeds and disconnects when i use a usb storage device but works fine for my wireless keyboard.
Thats pretty much it, the pros very much out weigh the cons. I absolutely love the case. It's the best one I've ever owned. My friends all compliment it on how clean and sleek it looks.
