This was great until my bro and I tried it on DS.It worked fine on the GBA/SP but said "you must have a game cartridge in this for it to work".Sure I loved it when I bought it.Hint:don't have too many games on the Action Replay OR ELSE it will say "YOU HAVE TO REASTART THE HOLE DANG THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 out of 5 stars This thing is junk don't buy it.   April 15, 2006

Note: I have only given this stars because they are required to complete a review.

I bought this for my son for Christmas. We have been working for 3+ months to try and get it working (OK, I admit, 2 months were just sticking it in a corner out of exasperation.) There is no way a child could get this to work without significant adult interaction. Moreover, someone who is extremely fluent in the nuances of Windows hardware and software requirements will have a difficult time with it.

Bottom line is don't buy this thing. It is junk. I have been back and forth with technical support and the only thing they seem to be adept at is asking me things I have already told them in email messages that they clearly haven't read. Further, it takes 2+ weeks for them to reply.

I work in the software business, can take apart and put together PCs and troubleshoot Windows. I can't, however, get this thing to work. Maybe I should try the other reviewer's suggestion of soldering the pins together. If that doesn't work, I will run over it with my car since it is too light to use as a paperweight. At least that will give me some satisfaction for the $40 I spent.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   April 12, 2006

Ok, first of all, this DOES WORK. Do some research, people! For the DS, if it doesn't work with a game, either send it back for a newer, soldered version, or solder it yourself (see my instructions at the end).

It is very useful. Uploading saves can help to have more save files in games like nintendogs, and in other games like Animal Crossing, there are programs that people make and put on the net for free download that can easily hack the game. Like, in my ACWW game, I now have 4 stores, tons of money, and even the Nintendo set that's only released over wi-fi!

And the GBA hacks also help. In my Pokemon games, I now have Nintendo-event-only pokemon like Deoxys! And I got that Sonic The Hedgehog 2 mode in Sonic Advance!

In general, this is one of the best (if not the best) unlicensed game accessories you'll ever find.

To solder - Solder together the fourth and fifth pegs FROM THE RIGHT on the inside of the AR using a soldering tool and tin foil/electric tape/etc. Now, it should work better.

1 out of 5 stars WORTHLESS   April 10, 2006

A complete and total waste of every dime spent. It would have been quicker and easier if my boys had simply torched two twenty dollar bills and been done with it. If, and when it infrequently worked, it was useless for their DS games. Of course, there is no disclosure of this fact until you have opened the package and read the instructions. A very valuable lesson learned by our young consumers. There is no doubt that for the rest of their 'earning years' they will not be inclined to spend any of their money on Intec products. Thank you Intec for accomplishing for us in one transaction what we have been working at for several years, turning our boys into enlightened consumers.

1 out of 5 stars oh why Datel why?   April 1, 2006

the action replay series of cheat devices are fairly good at what they do. However, this one does not. it claims to have hundreds of codes preloaded, and it does, just for the GBA. DS owners who are stuck on mission 22 of advanced wars DS will have to wait unitll Datel gets it right. Also it comes with the so called ability to connect this said product with your computer. once again it can, if your platform is Windows. Mac owners are out of luck again. This seems strange as Nintendo is in the same niche as Apple Computer is right now: a company that proplelled their industry in the 80s with a reputation of having high quality first party products and marching to a beat of their own. oh well. point is: wait untill a full DS action replay comes out.
