This was an awesome buy great codes and super hi-resolution graphics. Preloaded with loads of cheats. New cheats. Perfect.

I don't usually give negative reviews. Heck, I don't do a lot of reviews but I just have to say a little something about this thing. First off I'm on my third one (I bought it at Circuit City locally). The first one just didn't work. The second died on the second day and the third one well, only sorta works. I followed all their procedures. Won't work with some DS carts. Did the firmware updates which are supposed to fix any problems. That didn't work either. So I tried sending Datal US a request for customer support from their website. Nothing. No reply. So I sent email directly to the supposed Datel customer support people. Automated reply. Basically nothing. Then I tried to call their tech support phone number. Round robin. You never get to speak to a real person. You can leave a message but you never get a call back. Bottom line: It's overpriced. It's not very well made (as shown by the two failures before I got one that worked) and it doesn't work as advertised (unless my third one is bad too). This third one is going back for a refund. Only wish I could give negative stars.
worst thing you could buy June 1, 2006 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I buyed this a week ago and it broke already. it doesnt show game on the ds every time i start her up anymore. this is only good for a couple uses. its not worth $35. try getting gameshark instead. people dont waste your money on this hunk of junk.
Does it even work? May 31, 2006 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this because it claimed compatability with the DS. I took it home, read the instructions, and found out "oh, you have to have an advance game for it to work" so I went back out and bought an advance game. When I went home again, I tried it with the advance game, like it said to, and oops! It didn't even recognize that something was plugged into the advance slot.
I heard about the "aluminum foil fix" and tried that, with the 4th and 5th pegs- when I turned my DS on after that, the game shut off automatically, and has never turned on again. It was 2 months old, but the warranty was voided because the foil shorted out the stupid thing.
So I bought a new DS. It's now 2 weeks old. Today I went out and got a new AR... sigh, again, with a new DS and a new AR, nothing loads up. According to my DS, there is nothing in the slot. I emailed tech support, and got an automated reply that gave me a link to a website that lists all the FAQs they have in the booklet that comes with the freaking AR. Under the link, it said "This is the only email you will receive from us regarding your support request" EXCUSE ME? So they don't even read the help requests, just send out automated emails and assume that if you still need help you'll contact them again? well, I did, but I am NOT impressed by the turnaround time. Something that claims to have 24/7 customer service shouldn't take more than an hour to email you back... especially something that is in the tech field. I do NOT recommend this product, anything you have to pay $35 for, and it doesn't work... or even worse, it's something you have to solder yourself for it to work... how is that worth the money? Also, I've heard if you want it for DS saves, the save overwrites your save, so it isnt quite the same as using cheats in that respect. I'll be returning it tomorrow.
And people, PLEASE (especially children ) DO NOT SOLDER THIS DEVICE WITH ALUMINUM FOIL OR ANYTHING ELSE UNLESS YOU ARE AN ACTUAL ELECTRICIAN. This is a dangerous thing to do, and you may be injured by it, besides ending up with a $130 lump of worthless plastic with the nintendo logo on the front.
defective-ness! April 29, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Okay, so you're wondering "Should I get this?" Well, if you get a working one, the answer is YES. However, I have tried to get a working one TWICE and failed completely once and mostly failed on the second try. If you can get the codes working, apply this to any game: replay value x100. It's just fun to mess with the game in ways that weren't supposed to happen. A pc link would make adding codes a hassle-free process. Being able to copy saves from Animal Crossing would be awesome. The problem is getting the darn thing to work.
With my Action Replay, it won't link to the pc no matter how many times I install/uninstall/reinstall the software. I now have to input about 20 lines of confusing characters MANUALLY (an example of a line of code: 1r24frth6). If it worked for the ds, I might forgive it, but it NEVER acknowleges that I have a DS cartrige inserted. Get a working one and you'll love it, but that's the problem. Better luck next time....
