4 out of 5 stars GOOD VERSION OF PC GAME "CAKE MANIA"   June 9, 2008
Plays exactly like the PC version, just smaller. It is fun and frustrating to lose a level by only a couple of seconds. I am a "Baby Boomer" without the fast reflexes and dexterity of the much younger players, but it is a great change from all the "Brain Age" type games.

4 out of 5 stars A-Ok game   April 21, 2008
Okay so here's the deal-cake mania is almost NOTHING LIKE cooking mama. period. cooking mama is all about actually making food first hand (stir, fry, mix, set timer, and in this game it's like a click and go in third person (you know click oven, click icing, click costumer, repeat) so if that is what you want cooking mama type cooking this isn't the game for you. Cake Mania is very similar to Diner Dash and is actually just a copy of the online version of Cake Mania-if you want to play this yet not pay for it to be on ds just google cake mania and play it on the computer, it saves you some time and money trust me. I'm 15 btw and as a person who has played it online and on ds I'd say it's an Okay game, worth the money for ds? not to me but it all depends on the person.

4 out of 5 stars Loads of fun!   April 16, 2008
I was looking for a fun game to play and this one did not disappoint. At first I thought it was a little too easy, but as the game went on and got more challenging I enjoyed it. I like the PC version a bit better, but I was happy with this and would buy a sequel if there is one.

2 out of 5 stars Fun... in the beginning   March 16, 2008

When I bought this game, I thought that it would be fun. It was, but only for the first 5 levels. You play as Jill and you try to run a bakery. It's harder than it looks. The different colors of icing are very close together, so it is possible that you may pick the wrong color. That will ruin the cake, unless you put it on display and somebody wants it, but that does not happen very often. The same thing happens with the decoration. As you progress, you get people that seem to wait about a minute, and then they leave. You have to be fast in order to succeed. Later, you have to make two layered cakes, which is even harder. Baking and putting on decorations and icing takes forever until you buy a better machine to do it. The new machines cost a lot of money in the game, so until you buy a better one, you're stuck with the slow ones.

The Nintendo DS version of Cake Mania is really bad and no fun at all. Take my advice. Only buy the Nintendo DS version of Cake Mania if you really must. I suggest that you play the computer version, which is much better. I don't plan on keeping my copy of this game, so I will probably be selling it to one of those places that will buy used games. Over all, I am very disappointed with this game, and I do not recommend the DS version to anybody.

This is a very fun, cute game. It's one of those games where you can just relax and play. It's repetitive and easy to control.

The only gripe I have about it is that for the DS, the screen must scroll slightly back and forth during play to get the whole bakery into view. You must be careful on what you tap and where you tap, as the slight scrolling is prone to screw up whatever button you meant to push on the oven and frosting machine.

Other than that, it's a good game to give your brain a rest with. It's not a good as the PC version, but what game is?
