Best. Game. Ever. May 25, 2008 There is a reason this game makes all the 'top 10' lists. I could go on and on about the gameplay mechanics and how revolutionary they were in 1998. Or the graphics and sound and how they are a pleasure even today. But just play the game and you'll understand.
One of The Best Games of All Time (Pun Intended) May 22, 2008 The title says it all. With visuals that were stunning in there time and nostalgic to many gamers today, anyone with a complaint as to the graphics is just complaining to complain. The story is a rich and expanded version of the old classic. The short summary: Save the Princess. The gameplay is simple, intuitive and easy to pick up. The puzzles are challenging, but not frustrating. The enemies are well concieved and the bosses are a thrill to fight, be it your first time or tenth. The characters are numerous and the concept of time travel is well used. The N64 gave us many great games, and if Ocarina of Time isn't at the top of the list, it's a close second.
The Legend of Zelda, Great! With a capital G. May 12, 2008 The Legend of Zelda, what a great game. It had such magical touch to it. A true adventure, and I did beat it, but it wasn't a walk in the park. I remember getting stuck on the water temple and set the controller down for a month or so. Well I finally did end up beating the game and it was fun and challenging all the way through.
Gameplay- The controls are so smooth and intuitive. Developers definitely used all they could in the controllers functionality which means theres no such thing as too many buttons. No slowdowns in the game whatsoever, and pushed the 64 to its limits.
Sound- The musical score really shined through in this Zelda adaptation. The songs stick in your head and they did. Loved the opening scene with Link riding his horse into the sunset. Another thing is they didn't put in any annoying voice-overs that you might find in other RPGS.
Conclusion- While this is the last Zelda that I've had the opportunity to play, it was however the best one. It's got to be one of the top games of all time. All the aspect of a wonderfully put together game are intact within. Play it, you'll love it!
Blows other Zelda games out of the water. March 30, 2008 Out of my experience, this game is by far the best in the series. Its better than Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and yes, even A Link to the Past, a fan favorite. The graphics are not amazing, but they work just fine, and at the time they were made, were quite high end. The story is original and fun. The quests are varied and entertaining, unlike the fetch quests you get in today's action rpgs. It has a good enough sound track, and some of the ocarina songs will be stuck in your head forever. My point is, go out and find this game now or your videogame experience will never be complete!
A Epic Masterpiece February 17, 2008 (Note:This is the Gamecube Collectors Edition version)I remember ten years ago, seeing the commercial for this game.I always did wonder what it was like. After getting the collectors edition I immediately got started on it.The story focuses,as always,on Link.Link is a young boy living in the Kokiri Forest. One night he has a nightmare, and wakes to discover a fairy named Navi, who will help him through his journey. He is overjoyed but then discovers that the gaurdian of Kokiri Forest, the Great Deku Tree,is dying from a curse. The tree passes along a Spiritual Stone and recommends to see Princess Zelda.Link does so and Zelda tells him to get the other two spiritual stones so Link can get the Master Sword to stop Ganon,King of the Gerudos, from entering the Sacred Realm and stealing the Trifoce,a divine relic.Link achieves the other stones and the Ocarina of Time.Link draws the Sword and finds out he has been tricked by Ganon, who entered the Sacred Realm.Link awakens seven years later, and after discovering he is now an adult, meets Rauru the Sage of Light.According to Rauru, the only way to defeat Ganon is to awaken the Five Sages. That is where the true quest begins.Wow,what a story! Now,the graphics are not bad by today's standards.Neither are the dungeons. They are amazing. And also very complicated.(Please don't mention the Water Temple).Overall this game can be summed up by one word:Perfect.Buy the game, become the hero, and have the time of your life.
