Great for younger or inexperienced gamers August 3, 2001 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a terrific game for children who love the Toy Story films. All the regular characters make appearances and it's just too fun controlling Buzz Lightyear! I only wish the graphics, sound and control were a bit more polished. The dificulty comes mainly from a constantly moving camera (but you can fix it when needed) and a bit too loose control. For the younger gamers though these drawbacks won't matter much as it's fun just wondering around the levels and finding your friends. You get to explore Andy's house, Al's Toy Barn and an airport among others. Older and more experienced gamers will probably want to pass on this due to the laskluster graphics and unsophicated gameplay. But if you're a fan as much as I am then you'll be able to look past these drawbacks and enjoy the game. One thing to keep in mind is that to save your game you need to have a controller pack.
Move over kid, it's daddy's turn!! July 25, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Got the game for our almost three year old who wound up wanting to watch me play for him in order to get to some of the tougher goodies. It's entertaining enough to keep him engaged, yet variably challenging enough to keep dad (the game dork) occupied and muttering oddities under my breath. It provides an adequate mix of characters and themes without trying to "be" the movie. IMO, the old "games based on movies" and "movies based on games" concept tends not to work too well.
Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!!! June 14, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What a great game! When I rented it I didn't know whether it would be good or not. I tried it thought it was great and the next thing you know I get it for Christmas. The characters such as Rex and Hamm sound like they do in the movie. I reccomend you get a Controller Pak to save your game, unless you plan on playing non-stop. This is a good predecessor of the Sega Genesis Toy Story game.
Toy Story 2... A Great Game October 26, 2000 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I got Toy Story 2 for a gift last christmas and I really enjoy playing it. I am playing it more now because I am hooked on trying to beat it. It is a really fun game to play. I think that the graphics are great in my opinion. I think that Toy Story 2 the game is as Good as the Sega Genesis Toy Story 1 Game. If you like Toy story 2 and would like to play as Buzz Lightyear this time around this would be the game to get. I highly reccomend this anyone! You'll have hours of Fun playing!
Our 3 year old loooooves it! October 21, 2000 26 out of 28 found this review helpful
Our 3 year old son just adores this game. ToyStory2 has really improved his motor skills and agility. He can move Buzz, shoot, jump, climb and help Buzz find toys with no problem. The graphics and sounds are just like the movie. I would recommend this game to any mom who is wanting to get a game that any of her kids could play and enjoy! It's fun for parents too!
