great game September 30, 2008 This is a very fun game. I haven't found it to be too exciting playing solo but the multiplayer is awesome. Get this and play with friends/family.
Lots of fun for the whole family September 18, 2008 I bought this early as a christmas present for my kids, but my friends and I opened it up to make sure everything was working ok. The order came in on time, everything in that aspect went smooth and the game worked great. My friends and I had a blast testing it out. We had played this game as a family a few months ago when a friend of mine let us borow it. We had so much fun together I decided to get it for christmas.
Unleash your inner rockstar September 17, 2008 This game is a family affair and everyone will be addicted. I haven't seen a game that has reached many gamers hardcore or not. Pick up a guitar, a drum set, or the mike and test your skills. I played this with my family and it is a just a sinful pleasure. The special edition is the perfect way to begin your journey with all the instruments you need to start with (except another guitar)and begin rocking out. The difficulty can be tweaked from easy from expert, you can customized and make a band, make money and fans to purchase new wardrobe or get more songs. I suggest playing with four people you have no idea how fun it is to rock with your friends and family. The wii might be the leader in family fun but rockband can be added to that list. Buy this game.
Family Fun September 16, 2008 This is something that parents and children (our four are between 26 and 12) can enjoy together regardless of ability. I can plays drums on easy while one son rocks out on expert guitar and another plays bass on medium and we all have a great time.
A great follow-up to the original. September 16, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
By now everyone has heard of the game that swept the nation by allowing you to play as your favorite rocker or create an original one and play your favorite rock songs. Well, Rock Star is back and it improves upon its predecessor by offering a number of new features. Features like on line multi player. This is a much welcomed addition to the series. No longer are you bound to search for friends to experience this game - just find them on line. Rock Band 2 presents a fully loaded jukebox at your disposal (84 songs), plus you are able to download songs from their website. There is a tradeoff, however. You first must unlock the songs before you are able to play them.....you unlock them by playing through the solo instrument tours.
The gamplay has also been updated from its predecessor. By increasing the difficulties of the songs, your accomplishments in the game feel truly earned and the level of satisfaction you'll feel when you finally master songs from artists like Metallica, is truly something. Ah, gratification....it's such an overlooked feature in most games. Another great addition to the series are specifically oriented challenges. This feature keeps the game fresh and is an outlet when a tough songs is wiping you out. But the single greatest improvement is that you are no longer restricted to the guitar....you can play other instruments, or just go at it karaoke style.
