Didnt like it January 15, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm a big fan of puzzle games, but this one just didn't appeal to me. The games got boring after a few repetitions. It needed more skill levels between easy and "normal". And what was up with the backgrounds? Seriously, the flashing animation and things zipping back and forth in the background was really distracting and annoying, not to mention a genuine seizure risk for susceptible people. Buy Tetris for the DS instead.
addicted December 19, 2007 My entire family aged 6 to 39, is having a blast competing for the highest score. Right now that standing highest is 44,000. Pretty modest for most, but it is a blast for us all to compete against each other either for the highest score, wifi with Wii, or wirelessly DS to DS. An avid Tetrisee, this game fills my need from the '90's with a 21st century style. This game has everything but violence. It ups the competitive anti, while increasing problem solving skills, perceptional reasoning, and so much more!
Planet Puzzle League November 21, 2007 I have been playing Planet Puzzle League for a couple of weeks now. I enjoy it and have not exhausted all the games. My only complaint would be that there isn't much of a variety in wireless play. What I do like in wireless is the ability for players to play at different levels. That way I can do wireless with everyone from my 10 year old to my 19 year old and the playing field is equal.
Good with only one problem November 16, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great game. It has a variety of play modes, and even a fun "daily play" mode that can be done once and you can watch how you improve over time. The only problem I have with it is that it only tracks one high score! It's annoying because when I was first learning, I put in an insanely high score on the beginner level and it's turned out to be impossible to ever catch up to it when on the advanced level. This one high score shows as "the" high score regardless of which game or play level.
It's a minor issue, though, and one that I haven't worried about too much. This is my favorite DS Lite game.
Very fun, but lacks some online features November 4, 2007 This is a very enjoyable game especially if you've played any of the previous iterations (Tetris Attack, Pokemon Puzzle League...), however the single player experience is lacks the depth of games like Meteos. The online multiplayer can be very fun and addictive, however there is no true leaderboard for you to see where you rank with all the other players. Sure there is the birthday battle, but those records get wiped every week. I still highly recommend this game, especially if you have buddies to play against (w/ voice chat), but don't expect too much depth from the single player and keep in mind there are no true leaderboards.
