Pokemon Pearl........ February 15, 2008 Other than playing a few Pokemon games years agos, I've never really been into Pokemon. Not because it never interested me(as I'm a level grinding fanatic), it's just I've always had a problem with buying two games just to 'catch 'em all'. It seems wrong to me when the other game has very little to no changes in it that would warrant me getting it when one game would suffice. At any rate, I was compelled to get the new Pokemon game for the DS. I think it was more out of curiosity to see what Game Freak would produce on the DS. For the most part, I was pleased with the game. Pearl offers more of the same deep and addictive gameplay we've played in Pokemon all these years with just enough new monsters and things to do to keep me interested. It's easily the best Pokemon game yet. A game any DS owner should add to their library. However, even so, there were a few things I found fault in with the game. Due to technical limitations of the GameBoy, GameBoy Color & the GameBoy Advance; I could understand why they resorted to keeping the game 2-D with odd yelps and grunts for your Pokemon yet we now have a handheld that can produce full 3-D and great audio so why have only the overworld map in 3-D & not the battles and why keep the same odd yelps and grunts? It's been proven a game like this can be done in 3-D...just take a look at Dragon Quest Monsters-Joker. It would have been cool to see battles in a more Pokemon Stadium/Colosseum vein. 3-D is the natural evolution of games like these. It wouldn't have to have been done quite like DQM-Joker to have its' own unique style but 3-D would've been nice. Second, why not add a little more story to the game to give me more incentive to play the game? I love games with a good story. Thirdly, like I mentioned earlier- why two games when only one will work??
At any rate, Pokemon Pearl is a solid game worthy of your hard-earned buck if you can get past those minor quibbles. I did, at least. Maybe Game Freak will take the hint and make a good change with the next round of Pokemon games. You've got to keep things fresh to keep people interested... ;)

I never received this and can't seem to get an email reply from the vendor.
Pokemon Pearl Rules!!!! January 24, 2008 I gave my kid this game as a present on Christmas time and he just went nuts when he received it. It has given my son many hours of pleasure and fun. Very well recommended to kids under 12.
Pokemon Pearl January 19, 2008 This is a fast paced fun adventure. I like it better than the previous Pokemon games.
Game placed in misleading location January 10, 2008 0 out of 13 found this review helpful
This game is for Nintendo DS. However, in the Amazon site I searched for Pokeman Pearl for Gameboy Advanced and that is what came up. Assuming that since I search for a gameboy game I purchased the game. Come Christmas morning my children quickly informed me that Santa had gotten the wrong game. I will now try to return it for a refund.
