Works for basic pedal repair, not for hinge repair August 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In my particular case, the lower part of the pedal had snapped (thanks for a good quality product, EA). The pedal metal helped me buffer this for a while longer, prolonging my old pedal's lifespan. I think this hinge part, though, couldn't last much longer. Overall, if you have a problem in the middle of the pedal, this product should do you fine; you may encounter problems if your hinge is failing.
Rock band kick pedal reinforcement August 9, 2008 I was a little worried about this thing because I wasn't sure of how well it would work on my already broken pedal. I decided to try it out, and the pedal was well worth the investment. I was able to completely reinforce my broken pedal by applying generous amounts of super glue to both ends of the broken pedal and on top, and then screwed the metal plate into place on top. It's been working for me for going on two weeks now, even after a pretty solid rock band party. I would recommend this reinforcer to anyone who has a pedal that is already broken or is making cracking noises (which is what I have seen two do so far before breaking). Hope this is helpful!
Does A Great Job But... (also note on pad sensors) July 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an excellent addition (reinforcement) to your flimsly Rock Band plastic drum pedal. Easy to install and very durable. Pedal Metal shipped very quickly. For the most part, a great buy!
I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because:
1) the screws aren't flush with the surface
2) this may not work depending on how badly your pedal is damaged. The description doesn't really say it's a fix for a broken pedal as much as it's a preventative... but it also makes one think it will fix a broken pedal, but then installation could be tricky (or impossible) depending on how your plastic is broken 3) after receiving it, I'm not sure the product itself is worth $15.00, but it does prevent (or maybe solves) a big problem with minimal effort and that in itself is worth $15.00. Better than paying $60.00 for a whole new kit.
And one more note, having nothing to do with this product, but the Rock Band drum pads have sensors which do wear out over time. I'm only including this here to save you the same frustration I went though. You can buy ones online that work very well. Getting the pad open is a little tricky (closing it is even harder), but once open replacing the sensor is a snap and you're rockin' again. In fact, I think the replacement sensor is even better than the original, it's a little more sensitive and picks up quick successive hits better. I got mine from [...]
Have you seen the kit for Guitar Hero World Tour? Can't wait... :)
Great Bass Pedal Reinforcement July 23, 2008 The Rock Band Bass Pedal reinforcement works excellent. I have been through three pedals already that had not been reinforced, and each of them lasted one to two months each before snapping. I have had this product attached to the bass pedal for almost four months now with no problem. The only negative thing I can say about this is that the screws should have been countersunk to make the surface a little more flush. Its a little uncomfortable playing barefoot. Overall a great product.
This thing is awesome July 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My foot pedal was broken in 2 places. This thing fixed it and now it's better than ever! Great product, well worth the money.
