3 out of 5 stars disappointed   April 20, 2008

game play was ok, but online was more like a chore, my son is the gamer(27) and he was really disappointed after all the hype he heard about it!!

4 out of 5 stars More like Ghost Recon, but still fun!   April 19, 2008
Excellent squad shooter! Why did the US Gov't only send three men to fight off an entire army of terrorists that have invaded a major American city? Fun? Yes! Plausible? No. Customizeable Character? Heck-Yea!

All said, I miss the original-style Rainbow Six 6 format of Clancy's initial vision of anti-terrorism/hostage rescue military operations. The graphics are great and the game play is fun, so I'm not really complaining. I just wish the folks running the R6 development would pick-up Tom Clancy's R6 excellent novel and get back to the true roots (at least as I saw it). One level being a significant plausible event of terrorism/criminal activity calling for highly skilled SWAT-style intervention with all the tangos dead on the floor.

I personaly would prefer that R6 series does not become a Call of Duty clone. Running street battles and major combat contentions are great video game material and extremly fun, but its not what R6 was supposed to primarily deal with. R6V2 is a great squad shooter and worth renting or buying.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed   April 19, 2008

I bought this game a couple of days ago and started it immediately. Played through it the first time on normal and beat it within in 6 hours. Thinking it would be more challenging on realistic I switch the difficulty. First off lets just say the AI is retarded, they are in the same spot and do the same actions as normal difficulty. Second they still can't shoot, I died once on realistic, only because I forgot about a sniper. If you are looking for a challenge, look somewhere else. For online game play I can't speak for that as I haven't played it online. This game is a disappointment for graphics and gameplay in the story mode.

3 out of 5 stars Should have been called 'Rainbow 6 Vegas 1.5"   April 18, 2008
I was totally disappointed with the game especially after loving the first vegas. My problem with this sequel is that it played it too safe. There was not enough change to make it feel like a sequel. The gameplay is still a blast but it was just as fun two years ago so I felt like I was playing an older game. This is a bummer because games should make one feel like their playing something new even it it is similar. This game suffers from a lack of imagination. Even the story of the first game was better than this. Generally the game is enjoyable but definitely not worth $60. I would recommend waiting until this game is $20-30. Even the multi-player does not stand out out with games like Call of Duty 4 out there.

4 out of 5 stars Great Game   April 18, 2008
First of all there are not many games i would buy. This is one im considering going pick up. great co-op play.. i have membership with gamefly cause after beating games i don't play em anymore. i only own 1 game rite now, Halo 3 (Great Multiplayer & ONline Play). let me say COD sucks, i didn't like that game. i totally love tom clancy games rainbow six and my favorite series Ghost Recon. This Vegas 2 game is better than first game, settings save for your weapons. ya i live in vegas, only the convention center was similar to actual thing. i rite away put on realistic setting, its tough. I consider myself pretty good at games, but not great. the guy who said he beat this game in 8 hours, ya what on easy setting. the solo mission rite before airport is fricking tough. i rent games often and this is one of the better ones i played in a while, its worth buying it if you like tom clancys first person shooters. the online is the board mission with online players, which it should of been maps verus 8 other online players would of been more fun.
