Great attempt October 15, 2007 This was a great launch title attempt for the Wii. It showed the capabilities of the motion sensor controls. The game really does respond to your hand motion, in terms of the aiming of the controller and the swinging of the sword. Even the throwing the grenade is pretty cool. That being said, I think the game was not tested before it was released. There are several times where I try to turn left and the game starts spinning. Kind of annoying I think. The graphics are not good, not at all. I understand that the Wii creates the games for the playability and the fun of motion control, but the view stinks. It feels like you are looking through some sort of concave like lens, hard to see.
Video's could have greatly improved the story line, instead they do still motion, sort of comic book style. Other things drive you crazy as well. It was a great idea, I hope other companies explore the capabilities of the Wii like this game did, but polish it up a bit.
Arm injuring fun! I played until my arms hurt... And I still want more. October 12, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A little clumsy at first, however, after 30 minutes I began to move as if I was in the game. Great game, Great concept for interaction. I see room for refinement of the sensitivity of the Wii remote and nunchuck, in a long series of follow up to this great game.
Shoot 'em up with a few twists courtesy of WII technology! September 23, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great game but could be even better.
I really like the aspect of the otherwise typical search and destroy adventure game that allows you to point at the screen in the direction you wish to go or look/view. That's unique among games and controllers, courtesy of the unusual WII technology. But it could be even better if it allowed you to attack your enemies, grab items, move them and use them by using those same new abilities unique to WII. In other words, why not allow some form of hand-to-hand combat rather than just shooting the weapons? There may actually be a way to do that I haven't yet figured out, but I don't believe so.
Overall an above average game, perhaps a three and a half star.
Dommo arrigato Nintendo! September 7, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had read a number of reviews that slammed this game for its controls and graphics.
Ok, the graphics are middle of the road, nothing special.
The controls, incredible! Sure it takes a few minutes to get the hang of it but once you do it all just seems to work. The sword fights are also interesting enough to keep a person occupied.
I gave it 5 stars overall and consider it a worthy first person shooter that makes excellent use of the unique WII controls.
Great Game, but Some Motion-Sensing Problems. August 31, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I thought the game was pretty good, the only major hindrance being the occasional dull motion-sensing of the game. Sometimes when you want to do some action, it doesn't catch it. Sorta makes the sword fighting a little clunky, but it's definitely still fun.
