5 out of 5 stars Josh ( dont let my review fool you...i love this game!!!!!!)   January 8, 2005

this game was Awsome to a certain extint because of its dificulty. I am a pro at rts's and strategy games. I have played WC3 and Starcraft plus the first advance wars and i have to say this is the hardest most frustrating game i have ever played. Now dont get me wrong i love the plot, graphics, multiplayer, characters and so on, BUT it took me soooo freakin long to finish the campaign that after i finished it i felt comppletely drained of energy that i didint play it for a while. But it also leaves you wanting more and the hard campaign satisfies your hunger for more, but a warning the hard campaign is ridiculously hard. VERY VERY VERY HARD. This game has a habit of making you mad to the point of quiting. BUT ALSO is a very addictive and fun game for a real strategy freak like myself and i would recomend it to anyone who likes strategy. Overall i have to say that i love the game so much and i seriously hope they make another one (because the ending hints there might be another one) so i leave you with this... If you buy this game you had better buy the strategy guide or you will have an extremelly hard time beating it...believe me.

5 out of 5 stars Advance Wars, only better   December 5, 2004

Not familiar with Advance Wars? There's a ton of reviews to get you acquainted with the basics, so I'll give a quick refresher.

-Fun campaign with a nice learning curve. At every step, the Campaign fills you in on exactly what you need to do and where you need to go. The execution is left completely up to you, allowing for maximum freedom in accomplishing your goals.
-Excellent multiplayer, where up to 4 players can hand off one system between turns (or use their own) and compete together. Add in Fog of War (parts of the map your units can't see are blacked out) and you have an intense but light-hearted wargame.
-Deceptively deep. Advance Wars takes well under an hour to learn and appreciate. For those who care to practice, the game has such a wealth of tactical options and minute details that it could take a lifetime to master. Your level of addiction is entirely up to you, and you're rewarded at each and every step.
-Lots of unlockable COs, maps, and modes, for the collector in you.

Personally, Advance Wars and its sequel are currently my favorite turn-based games (with the sequel in the lead only because there's a little stuff to play with). GameBoy, PC, board games... nothing else can compete.

If you own Advance Wars, this game only adds one measly unit- the Neotank (the biggest tank in the game). So what's there to enjoy? The continuation of the story, and the addition of a number of other elements (pipelines and factores and death rays that the Black Hole Army wants to use against you) along with CO Super Powers that are generally stronger the "first level" powers that are basically the same as they were in the first game, at the price of a little extra wait... if you liked Advance Wars one, two is the same game with some extras.

Look, everone's saying that this game is so cool because it has lots of RTS and RPG options, combined. This is so, but it isn't all that uncommon. Fire Emblem, (GBA) just one of many games of this general type, is pretty much the same thing, except you can't build/train units. I havn't actually played this game yet, but I've done a LOT of resirch on this game. I've read most of the reviews (half of which were a load of poo!) and they, quite frankly, scare me. This appears to be an exilent game though.

P.S. I only rated the game because I have to and the rating is based upon the (many) reviews that I have read.

I just bought this game about a week ago.Its the best game I have out of my 11 games for game boy advance. Before you buy a game boy game game any were, you should read reviews online,so thats what I did,if you read any bad ones dont listen. This game has excellent graphics a 4 out of 5 stars, the graphics are a little kidish, but there really good.Next is the music,I'd give the sound a 4 1/2,because it has some pretty good songs, but they get anoying when your battling.I would suggest buying this game,if you think it will be a bad or easy game, your wrong,it is a very challanging game'if you like a chalange'at first it was easy but then it got harder, some times you dont even feel like playing it.I hope this review was helpful to you.
