Whats wrong with this, i'll tell you whats wrong!!! December 7, 2004 0 out of 14 found this review helpful
There are three things that wrong. I just got my ps2 a couple of weeks ago and this game sucks, so does driv3r. 1st thing thats wrong is that there is no damage, the producers didn't want damage to there speed machines, 2nd thing, the headlights don't work, i mean they do look tight in all but the street light do all the work, 3rd thing, DO NOT SELL YOUR CAR, I REPEAT DO NOT SELL YOUR CAR. I sold my car and i tuned it up, got it a new engine, rims, braked muffler, all of that, and all the stuff i put onto it i thought it would be a lot of money, like 14,000 or 18,000. Then i was so dumb i sold it and it was only worth 8,000 when i got done, now i don't have a car. But the graphics are phenominal and the way you handle each car, each car has a different kind of driving sequence, its like your really driving. The cars are great, has a great variety of cars from usa, france, italy, germany etc. My favorite is the nissan. So if you get this game and you like damage and the lights, wrong game buddy. I am also 13.
gt3 not that fun to play December 4, 2004 3 out of 20 found this review helpful
the cars in this game are impossible to control!!!!
the game is overrated. too boring to play with a really bad soundtrak.
don't buy this game.
has everything a racing game needs..... November 30, 2004 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is the ultimate racing game. Hundreds of tracks and cars you can race all day. It's not too hard, but certain parts can be hard. If you like racing games, you have to pick this up. The controls are easy, the graphics are good, and the good soundtrack is an added plus. Basically, pick this up if you happen to enjoy racing games, you won't be dissapointed. Or buy the new one, but if you're money-strapped, this one's only $20. The only reason I gave it 4 stars overall is because it can get boring.
I thought I wasn't going to like it. November 15, 2004 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Because I hate straight simulators. And everybody I spoke to I asked which game had the more arcade feel they kept pointing to GT3. I kept going back in my mind thinking what if these people, possibly first time gamers or conversions from the PC gaming world, didn't know what I meant by arcade. What if they interpreted "arcade" as simply "a game". I would use the Ridge Racer series as an example of a true arcade racer and it felt that I was losing some people in the explanation.
This purchase was a tough one. Since I've played racing sims before and as far as I was concerned they were toooooooooo in depth and technical to keep my attention. And the control on some seemed tooooooo realistic to the point of being restrictive, keeping your sense of fun in check.
At first this sort of confirmed every suspicion I had about the GT series. The cars were hard to control presicely. Things seemed restrictive. That is until I started earning credits and blindly upgraded my rides to the best they can be (I'm still not up on fine tuning them since I don't know that the heck I'd be doing). Right now the best ride I have is a Chrysler PT Cruiser. No, I haven't purchased a million $ ride yet. The obsession with winning more races to buy more cars and the slackjaw enducing racing (because you're so focused on steering and fine pushing the gas with the analog buttons) keep one coming back for more. And if there is a significant gap in time before you can get back to it it can be intimidating because you're not sure if you remember how to drive the GT way by controller.
Instead of being pure arcade racer, this is a mix of arcade and sim. The control is forgiving enough to enjoy the game yet challenging enough to beat your head in primal frustration and utter more than 3 types of curse words.
But I still like my arcade racers where you can get right into it without having to worry if your car is tuned up well enough. OutRun 2 on the Xbox has my attention now and the demo I played of that was magnificent. Too bad it's for the Xbox though.
GT2 got boring October 18, 2004 0 out of 13 found this review helpful
So does this. It is ridiculous. Like the other person who says GT2 and the original (which I only have a demo of) get boring is right. This game is only fun for about only 1 min and the licenses are TOO HARD! TOO HARD! Well don't buy it it is dreadful. Garbage controls. rubbish handling and very hard races and less cars and only a few more tracks makes this game a real loser. F355 challenge is another PS2 game I own. and that is very very good. Sony why did you release GT3 it is....... DREADFUL!
