5 out of 5 stars Best Kanji Flash Cards   July 17, 2007
Before finding these flashcards, I was making my own (which was very time consuming) because I was unhappy with the kanji flashcards that were currently available. I then discovered this set and am extremely impressed. These cards are excellent and give all of the necessary information for me to easily learn kanji. The cards are also priced very reasonably. I will definitely be picking up the next set as soon as it is released.

5 out of 5 stars The very best kanji flash cards   June 30, 2007

I have purchased a number of different brands of kanji flash cards. None of the others come close to being as high in quality as these. The cards are incredibly well designed and useful. It is obvious that a lot of thought went into designing them. I know of no better product than these cards.

Among the many other good things about these cards, I appreciate the fact that the stroke order information is large, clear, and easy to read. The kanji and stroke information in my textbook are very tiny and hard to read. I was getting kanji wrong on my tests until I purchased volume one of this set and could see how the kanji were actually supposed to be drawn.

Here are some addtional good things to know about this set and its companion volume:

1. Volume one contains all the kanji you need for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Levels 3 & 4 (i.e, the lowest levels of proficiency). That's 284 kanji cards. It has a guide and index for those 284 cards.

2. Volume two of these cards contains all the kanji needed for the JPLT Level 2. That's 739 kanji cards. It includes a guide and index to all the cards in both volume one and volume two, which makes it very easy to pull out specific cards to study.

If you are studying kanji, these cards make life a lot easier.

5 out of 5 stars Indispensable!   April 21, 2007

If you have ANY intention to study kanji, or even improve your vocabulary, these are THE cards to purchase! I have learned so much from these cards! A working knowledge of hiragana and katakana are really important for these cards. I don't see this as a negative, as romaji is a pretty useless way of studying the language. If you purchase these cards, buy them directly from [...]as they will get more profits from the purchase. I am ANXIOUSLY awaiting volume three of the kanji cards, so I may complete my studies someday! I wouldn't recommend any other tool for learning kanji.

4 out of 5 stars Great cards! - - - but Volume 2 suffers a bit on production quality   December 12, 2006

As expected, these cards are the best! I own Volume 1, and Volume 2 continues to use the same system that promotes ease of use and fast learning.

I would have given this product a 5-star rating if not for the poor quality of the cards on this volume. Volume 1 had a real solid set of cards, perfect printing and quality. But Volume 2 seems to suffer a bit. The set that I got had warped cards, and the cutting looks like it was done with a slightly bent, dull blade. Some cards are almost oblong-ish in shape. The printing on a majority of them are crooked and very misaligned.

I'm not sure whether this condition is unique to the set I purchased, but I sure am kind of unhappy about it.

But other than that, they are White Rabbit, and the way they are printed does not really have any significant effect on their effectivity as flashcards.

All in all, a great product. I hope Volume 3 comes out as soon as I am done with these, in time for the next JLPT!
