4 out of 5 stars pokemon pokedex   December 28, 2007

Wow! What a complete pokedex! My 7 year old son enjoys reading this book. I don't understand it, but he does! He said it gives information on 490 pokemon. It also tells what fighting attacks they can use for the pokemon games. The only pokemon missing from this guide are the 3 newest ones (#491,492,& 493).

5 out of 5 stars A Must Have For Pokemon Fans   December 26, 2007

My 8 year old son is a Pokemon addict. We have Diamond, Pearl, Emerald and several other DS games related to Pokemon. Don't even ask me about Pokemon Battle for the Wii. Because most of his friends are also addicted, we give this book as a gift for most birthdays. Finally, my son got a copy and he loves it. It gives descriptions of all the Pokemon and their talents. According to my son, it is a must have. According to me, if it gets my son to read, it is a must have.

4 out of 5 stars Good book but missing info   November 23, 2007

The book is good but it doesn't say anything about Floaroma Town there are arrows pointing to it with captions saying Floaroma town this way. Another thing I didn't like was that they don't show you the inside of the buildings. I liked that they give you info on which rod to use on which Pokemon. I also like the way it shows you the way the Pokemon looks from a back view.

5 out of 5 stars Great   November 7, 2007

I wanted this guide because I accidentally bought the first Diamond and Pearl Prima guide, and I want them to correspond sort of. I am glad I did because this book was perfect for what I wanted.

First, lets look at the down side. My only problem was the fact that they did not show where to catch the pokemon from Firered/ Leafgreen and Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Also, the many typos are a little distracting, but when it comes to Pokemon, I've seen way worse.

When it comes to the Pokedex, It was very detailed, and showed all of the info most people would need to either catch all the Pokemon, or to build a strong and well rounded team. One thing I would have liked was the full numerical value of each stat, and which Pokemon give you what EVs, but I'm fine with looking it up occasionally on the internet. When it comes to catching all the Pokemon, this guide leaves out nothing. It has a detailed guide on how to get all the Pokemon, whether it means catching them from the wild normally or using the PokeRadar or Fishing rod. It also has a post elite four guide that shows all of the extra legendaries and how to deal with them. At the end of the guide it has many detailed charts on contests, attacks, berries, and items found in the underground.

This book satisfied me entirely when it comes to the pokedex and where to catch all the Pokemon. The other charts and tips are also handy. This book is perfect people either new to Pokemon, or old. This guide will help you with future games as well.

5 out of 5 stars Expensive, but well worth it!   October 17, 2007
Personally, I think the division of the guide into two was a money making strategy that annoys me. However, the quality of the guide is beyond excellent for the price I paid. I have detailed information on all pokemone, updated for this version, where and how to obtain them, and how to finish the quests leftover from the first guide. It details the battle tower, capturing the actual legendary pokemon, as well as the three psychic spirits.

I highly recommend this guide!
