Great Portable Game System - Highly Recommended! November 30, 2008 The "Nintendo DS" game system is a fantastic portable gaming platform. We have one for each member of our family (son 12, daughter 16, wife 47, me 44). Due to the wide selection of games for the system, there are always a few that are of interest to each of use. One of the best features is the ability to connect to each other's games and play multiplayer games (we really like The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and Animal Crossing: Wild World). The battery life is fantastic and the units are fairly durable (two of ours are now glued "open", but still work fine).
Highly recommended!
great gift November 30, 2008 plenty of games to play on the ds and the color now for girls too.
Not Just For Kids November 30, 2008 We are in our mid 60's. We each got a DS and found hours and hours of portable entertainment. New York Times Cross Words, Brain Age, Solitare, Sudoku all great adult fun.
DS with a Cause November 29, 2008 Okay, I finally broke down and bought myself one of these instead of waiting for one of my kids to put theirs down. When I saw this special edition, it pushed me over the edge. Hopefully "Susan G. Komen for the Cure" will actually receive some part of the purchase price to help with breast cancer research. Other reviewers have already given you the facts about this latest GameBoy incarnation. Since all the new games are only available in DS version, you have 2 choices: get a DS or retire. (PSP - what's that?) Not being a quitter, I choose to play. As long as there are Zelda games on the horizon, I shall never rest. Get one.
GREAT PORTABLE GAME SYSTEM, LOTS OF GOOD GAMES November 29, 2008 We purchased the Nintendo DS Lite for my daughter and she loves it. There are a huge amount of quality games for it. She loves the New Super Mario Bros. and Nintendogs is really cute too. It has two screens on it that show different things depending on the game. The screen is bright and has fairly good graphics for a handheld unit. The screen also utilizes touch screen technology that is used during most games. It also has a built in microphone that can be used for example to talk to your pets on Nintendogs or on PetzCatz 2. With the built in WiFi they can play against their friends or chat without connecting any wires. This unit takes about 8 hours to charge once depleted but you can play while it charges and once it is charged you can play for days without recharging it. With this system you can also play GameBoy Advance games using a port on the unit. This system can do alot and is sure to please.
