Great handheld turn-based strategy game January 23, 2008 I like this game alot. It offers a more realistic wargaming experience than Advance Wars but without sacrificing the fun. I just finished Advance Wars 2 the day I took Panzer Tactics of the box and I am having just as much fun, different yes, but equally fun. I like the depth of variety in units and maps as well as the challenging AI which makes for a satisfying victory. Of couse this game isn't flawless, but much of what I don't like about the game is the fact that the DS screens are not large enough to show all of the details and information a game like this could use. However, the developers have done a great job of fitting this kind of game on the DS and retaining most of what makes them so addicting.
Great strategy game! January 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game rocks! If you liked panzer general 2 you will love this game. The graphics are ok but the strategy is what makes this game so much fun. I have a hard time putting it down. Using the touch screen is a little touchy but you get use to it. You can save the game at any time and if you fail a mission you can start back up at your save point. I have been playing this for a week now and I'm still on the easy missions so this game isn't going to end anytime soon.
Completely Absorbed January 8, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I posted about this game on a video game site this morning. I got this game for Xmas, and I thought it was just a junk throwaway. I assumed it was on sale or something. Anyway, I clicked on it on amazon to see what it costs.
Lo and behold it's a brand new title. Seriously, I've missed my BART stop three times in a row playing this game. It's totally absorbing. I will probably end up playing it at my desk once my boss leaves. I'll just prop a book on my lap, a couple on the desk and then make it look like I'm using my blackberry.
YES!
Reminiscent of the old strategy board games. January 5, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Panzer Tactics is a good strategy game with similar complexity to the old hex board games. While I like that it's more serious than Advance Wars, I do wish it had a little more of the simplicity and the 'human side' of Advance Wars. While Panzer Tactics is about machinery, Advance Wars feels a little more personal. I get a little more attached to 'my men' and a little more sorry when I send them to their deaths.
Like having Panzer General in your pocket! December 30, 2007 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
This game plays almost like a perfect copy of the Panzer General series and is a MUST HAVE for any fans of said series. Any fan of hex map strategy war games would like this even if they haven't been exposed to Panzer General. I am very happy with this purchase. The units stats are very well done and the game play mechanics are perfect for the DS. I hope they make a sequel.
