My son and I love this gun. We have hours of fun with it. No complaints at all.

3 out of 5 stars Shooting Your Wii Away   April 26, 2008

There is no doubt about the success of the Wii, and what had made the Wii Zapper a triumph with games like Link's Crossbow Training. Sadly, there is always a third-party knockoff that just doesn't feel right. This Wii Magnum Gun spinoff, brings the use of the Wii within the shooter games. Although it works good on some games like Link's Crossbow Training and Resident Evil 4, it just doesn't measure on all titles like Call Of Duty 3, or smaller first-person shooters like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. It also doesn't always respond with the Wii-mote all the time. Instead, I really suggest you stick with the Wii Zapper, and just hope that there are more games that you can use to play with it.

4 out of 5 stars Remove the Spring and Fire Away   April 6, 2008

Nice gun, well balanced in the hand. I bought two of these to play House of the Dead 2&3 with because I remembered the original arcade game had a similar style of gun. I like it cause you can aim and fire with one hand, as opposed to the Wii Zapper which requires you to use two hands to operate the gun.
After playing HoD with this gun for two hours, my trigger finger was sore and developed a blister due to the high spring tension. I opened up the gun and removed the spring. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Now the trigger has virtually no travel to fire the B button. The trigger action is now as fast and soft as using the Wiimote without the gun. Also this elimiates the firing delay that a few other reviewers talked about. It's so much easier to kill zombies now!
I also agree that the Wii strap does get in the way when inserting the wiimote into the gun. It's possible, but not too hard to leave the stap on, and get the wiimote into the gun.

4 out of 5 stars Almost better than the "Perfect Gun"   April 4, 2008

4-stars, but it can be made a 5-star!. OK, this is a gun shell extremely similar to the Nyko Perfect Shell. It has the same pass through to plug in the nun-chuck, with a better shaped trigger and a more comfortable grip on the handle. The weight is about the same. The trigger pull is a problem. The travel is about twice as long as the Perfect Shot and the spring is a lot stiffer. If, however, you are willing to take your screwdriver and open it up, you can easily weaken the spring and make this gun truly perfect! Big fun to be had with RE: Umbrella Chronicles and House of the Dead, or any game that works with the wii zapper.

Buy two, look like John Woo! (Caution: product does not actually cause player to resemble John Woo or Chow Yun-Fat except as a coincidence. Firing two guns can cause you to fail to hit anything with either and look a bit of a dork.)

1 out of 5 stars crappy gun   March 16, 2008

The other reviews are right. The trigger doesnt go in far enough. And the wii mote keeps popping out. You can't reach the buttons at the top. The wii zapper is better, buy that instead.
