5 out of 5 stars addictive little game   October 3, 2007
My only complaint with this game is that it is too short. I wish it was twice as long, but what you get is lots of fun. It didn't take me very long to get gold stars on every level -- the key is to not to go after all the coins, just go directly home. ...And keep those little guys moving once you start them up. A charming little puzzle game.

4 out of 5 stars Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 March of the Minis   July 15, 2007

This was the first game I got for my Nintendo DS. I have to say it is a lot like Lemmings as you have to get all the mini Marios to follow you to complete the level. I think that the music, color, and overall game play is awesome! I purchased the DS over the PSP just so I could play Mario games. Mario is my overall favorite video game character. I did give this game a 4 rating because I did complete the game with all gold stars in less than a week. I perfer video games to last longer than that. Otherwise I think it is a must for your DS game collection.

4 out of 5 stars Very fun game, a bit too short though.   June 23, 2007

Despite the fact that I only ever finished 2 levels with a gold star (silver for the rest) this was quite an easy game. I took it on holiday with the intention of it being decent fodder for downtime but I finished it all in 6 days.

Asides from that it's very cute and colorful (as with most Mario games) and has some great gameplay and tunes. It's a lot like the Lemmings games crossed with a little bit of snakes and ladders. The puzzles are clever and fun to solve and it's never boring. I did find the lack of response (only sometimes) from the stylus pen to be a bit annoying, but it wasn't that big of a deal.

Perfect for kids, a decent distraction for adults.

5 out of 5 stars Mini-Marios on the Loose   May 14, 2007
If you enjoy "puzzle" type games, then this is the game you really need for your DS!

Players guide their mini-Marios through increasingly difficult mazes to reach the end of the level. Each of the 8 levels has 10 sub-levels, with a boss at the end. There are also mini-games you have to complete at the end of each level to advance.

For kids who enjoy puzzle games, this is a great investment! The graphics and colors are great, and the increasing difficulty will keep them challenged. There are also codes you can get to "win" a mini-Donkey Kong, a mini-Peach, and a mini-Toadstool.

Great fun for all. Both my 10-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter enjoy this game, especially where you can create your own "stage" for the characters to play in!

4 out of 5 stars Very fun puzzler with Mario and Donkey Kong   February 8, 2007

The rivalry between Nintendo icons Mario and Donkey Kong is older than most modern gamers. A sequel to the GBA hit, Mario VS Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis for the DS takes a different approach to the gameplay elements found in the original GBA game, but is still a very well done and quite addicting puzzler in it's own merits. This time around, you control a horde of Mario's "Minis"; miniaturized mini-Mario's that you control using the touch screen in an effort to save Pauline (yes, Pauline) from the clutches of Donkey Kong. Traveling throughout the game's 80 stages, Mario VS Donkey Kong 2 offers great fun throughout the game while throwing plenty of challenge in to boot. The game has a great look with fluid graphics and great sound effects, rounding out a pretty good package. If there's any negatives to Mario VS Donkey Kong 2, it's that the main story mode is kind of short, and while the game offers some challenge, there is a steep learning curve as you'll come across some easy stages, followed by some incredibly hard ones. That being said, while Mario VS Donkey Kong 2 isn't the best puzzler to be offered for Nintendo's dual screened system, it still offers up plenty of inventive fun that fans should most definitely check out.
