5 out of 5 stars Solid piece of equipment   October 21, 2008
Mounting this requires a fair amount of room on the desk surface but this allows it to remain fastened very well during use. All aspects of the yok performance are great...smooth, spring-loaded, highly configurable....a great investment for a high-quality simulator!

5 out of 5 stars WILL THIS WORK WITH THE CH PRO PEDALS?   October 19, 2008
I ALREADY OWN THE CH PRO PEDALS WHICH I USED ALONG WITH THE CH YOLK. WILL IT WORK WITH THE CH PEDALS OR ARE HTERE CONFIGURATION ISSUES WHILE USING FS.

5 out of 5 stars Saitek Pro Flight with 3 lever throttle   September 29, 2008
I researched the Pro flight against several others including CH Products flight yoke. This process consumed more than 2 months. So why did I purchase this yoke over the others? Well, when the yoke arrived from Amazon, very speedily, I was impressed by the solid construction of both the yoke and the throttle quadrant. The variety of buttons, POV location were right on and very easy to setup for Microsoft FSX. The included customization software was not the current version, but I was able to download the current version from Saitek's web site and to also register the product. The software runs fine on my HP beefed up computer running Vista with service pack 1 installed. I have been using this yoke for 2 months now and am very happy with it. Aircraft control is superior to a conventional joystick, although will use my stick for my combat Sims, if I ever go back to them. Unfortunately, the yoke squeaks when you initiate turns. I am told this is due to the nylon bushings used and additionally, the yoke shaft should not be lubricated, will void your 2 year warranty. Other than that, this thing is by far the best of the medium price range yokes. Buy it and you too will be hooked on it for years to come. Hope this little review has helped you to make an informed decision. Happy Flying.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good product.   September 24, 2008
It seems to work pretty good, but not real impressed with documentation for configuring actions for MS Flight Simulator X. Of course I'm not very happy with trying to use Flight Simulator to configure the controls either (primarily the flap controls). It would be nice to find some example setups for common aircraft like a Cessna 172. I'm sure I'll get there but have already spent a few hours trying to figure it all out.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed   September 21, 2008

As a private pilot, I fly sims to keep current with procedures. When it was time to replace my CH yoke/rudder, I'd hear about Saitek and decided to give them a try.
The order came in quickly and I was pleasantly surprised at the construction. It seemed better built than the CH product line. The first issue I encountered was the height required to secure the yoke. I have a desk with a retractable keyboard drawer. The Saitek mounting hardware extends about 5" below the desk, which forces me remove the keyboard drawer to use the yoke. An inconvenience I had not to put up with the CH yoke. I loaded the driver (OS: Vista) and opened MS FlightX to configure the control settings. Right off the bat, the throttle/mixture/prop quadrant was inoperative. Then I had problems configuring the settings. I visited the saitek website for solutions. Since there was a topic heading specifically dealing with the issues I had. After reading pages of suggestions, I found out that Saitek had no software patch that I could download. It seems there is a problem if you have Vista. I wish they had said that upfront. I'm returning the Saitek yoke/rudder combo . CH is not perfect by any means, but it works...
