best game ever! April 12, 2004 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This game has great graphics! I, for one, love F1. I know the tracks, and LOVE to race. I think some people know nothing about racing so they think it's dumb, but it's a great game. The race car drivers do crash into you, that is really how it is in F1.
The WORST F1 game ever February 22, 2004 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this game understanding the idea behind it. Boy do I wish I had spent my money on another game. Sure the graphics are great, but that doesn't make up for the sad game play. As most everyone else has noted, the other drivers seem to be on a mission to crash into you, or they manage to get through a pit stop much faster than you do. I don't know if anyone at EA is an F1 fan, but if they are, they sure didn't do the sport any justice by releasing this piece of junk. I'm four races from the end of the game, and once I'm done, this game is going in the trash where it belongs. Can anyone out there make a great F1 game?

Not bad, but it cheats! January 3, 2004 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
The career mode is interesting, and makes the experience more fun than the traditional F1 games. The game isn't hard to master after a little time, and you can find yourself scoring podium finishes consistently by the 2002 season. The main problem that I have with the game is this: numerous times while leading the race, I have pitted at the same time as the second place car. The pit graphics enable you to see down the pit road a portion of the time, and while I'm pitted, the second place car will simply drive through and take the lead. It is extremely frustrating, and they generally have a significant enough lead that it is generally impossible to retake P1. All-in-all good, but I wish that EA would have fixed that before release!
Only partially works October 7, 2003 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
As a dedicated F1 fan, I was looking forward to seeing my name on then podium, as the game promised. But, here's the big kicker, you have to pass a series of tests to be eligible to compete. And the game will NOT remember that you passed the next to last test (a series of S-turns in the rain) so you have to take it every time you open it. (It'll take foreover to pass ...) The last test is a pit stop test over which you have no real control and it will NOT let you pass (I wasted 4 hours on this). The quick race section is okay but the whole point of it - to mix it up with Schumi and the boys - is moot. The @#%#$@ gamers who designed it fixed it so that you won't pass the entry tests.
