5 out of 5 stars Fiction sending Messages...Get Real!!   December 4, 2008

I unlike some of the critics here have read the entire series. The series is excellent.

What bothers me about some of the critics on here is that they seem to forget that this is FICTION! There is a difference between NON FICTION AND FICTION. If you do not understand the difference between the two then you can't really teach YOUR children that the things seen or done in BOOKS, T.V. etc.... are not to be repeated in REAL i.e non-fiction, life.

Twilight is an amazing piece of FICTION. Adult and young adult alike can enjoy the twist on vampires. I know I did.

5 out of 5 stars A real page-turner   December 4, 2008
Since I am writing my own paranormal romance, I read a lot of books in this genre. Aside from the Black Dagger Brotherhood novels, this is the best paranormal romance I've read in...well...forever. It's soooo refreshing to read about the development of the romance rather than the wham-bam (and I think you all know what I mean about the "wham-bam", right?) that a lot of paranormal romances engage in (too early in the plot, I might add).

Twilight is such an engaging read, making you feel like the world that is being written about actually exists...and before you're halfway through the book, you WANT this world to exist.

The Twilight saga is a modern-day Romeo & Juliet, with a paranormal twist. And I love the way the author created her own vampire image and stuck with it. These vampires are definitely not the vampires of Dracula or of horror movies and lore. The old stereotypes of holy water and garlic and stakes in the heart are irrelevent. These are 21st Century vampires, boys and girls - a whole new breed. And it's wonderful!

5 out of 5 stars Great book, not just for tweens   December 4, 2008
I finally bought this book because I had to see what all the buzz was about. I am 25 and not usually into teen/tween geared novels. From page one I was sucked into this story about a teenage girl who falls hopelessly and irrevocably in love with a vampire... and a pretty good vampire at that. I think people up to the age of 30 would enjoy this book. As long as you realize it was written for a younger audience, you will not be disapointed. Stephanie Meyer has a great ability of captivating her audience and dragging them into this world filled with vampires, mostly friendly. I definitely recommend this book to everyone age 10 and up. Oh, and don't be discouraged by the thickness of the book. Although the book is long it will not feel that way. I read this book in about two days. It is a fast read because you never want to put it down.

1 out of 5 stars I want my money back   December 4, 2008

I'm not kidding. I've never considered returning a book I've read before, but I'm considering it. This was the worst book I've ever read and I can't believe 1.someone published it 2.people like it and 3.that I paid money and wasted a few hours of my life reading it. Seriously, don't waste your time or money.

5 out of 5 stars JK Rowling & Anne Rice, blended perfectly!   December 4, 2008

This is by far the best new series I have read in this decade!
A love story reminiscent of Romeo & Juliet, but infinitely more approachable.
Read and fall in love with her characters!
