3 out of 5 stars Decent, but have used more comfortable   October 4, 2008

I ordered these headphones to use at the gym and while running. I like the spring loaded headband idea, and the ear buds aren't too bad. Sound was acceptable for exercise use (not Hi-Fi by any means). The cord has a nice feature where you can adjust where it exits. Nice features all around. The problem for me was the headphone would sag, causing the arm holding the earbud to put pressure on my ear. Not horrible, could probably even lear to live with it, but for $50, I'd rather find something else. I was less than impressed with the carry case too. I didn't expect much, but it is pretty much impossible to get the headset in the case quickly. Not a deal killer though.

5 out of 5 stars Better than expected   September 17, 2008
I've been searching for a headset to go with my iPod Nano that can actually handle a real workout. This seemed like a good idea so I gave it a shot. To my surprise, they work amazingly well! I'm not an audiophile, but they sound fine to me. They stay put even when running many miles and the headband part is soft so I can still wear them when working the bench. The cord is a good size without the included extension if you are using an armband for your iPod. The clip that attaches to the sleeve is also a nice touch to keep from pulling the cord out of your iPod if the workout gets a little too intense!

4 out of 5 stars Great fit and great sound, annoying cord length   September 14, 2008

After the cord of my previous Sony headphones, Sony Mdr-Ex75/Blk Ex Earbuds Headphones with 9Mm Hi-Sensitivity Driver (Black), fell apart I decided to upgrade to a similar model. The previous Sony's had problems with staying in your ears, especially when exercising. Additionally, since all the weight of the cord is off to one side, the cord eventually fell apart making the headphones useless.

The MDR-AS50G headphones have been a fantastic replacement! They sound just as good as any other Sony in-ear headphones and they actually stay in your ears no matter how much you move around. They're very comfortable too! Much more so than than traditional buds. The spiral design also makes them almost as compact as traditional earbuds. This product is perfect for anyone who likes to exercise and wants the deep base and clarity of in-ear headphones.

My only complaint, and the reason I gave this product 4 stars, is that the design of the cord can be quite annoying. The short length is designed for using your MP3 player with an armband, and its too short to use it for anything else. The extension cord makes the the cord length far too long to be practical, and its also pretty heavy. In order to keep my iPod in my pocket, I have to stuff a lot of the cord into my pocket because its just too long. The product does come with a clip to help combat the extra weight of the extension cord, but I feel that this whole problem could be solved with just one cord length.

Pros:
- great sound quality, deep bass, very clear
- stays in your ears during any activity
- very compact and easy to store
- comfortable

Cons:
- cord length

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good headphones   September 8, 2008
These headphones work out pretty good, sound is acceptable for headphones of this size, they stay on good while running and moving around a lot. The one thing I don't like about the fit is instead of resting on the top of your ears like most behind the head headphone the create small pressure point on the back of your head where the band hits. Its not uncomfortable just different.

4 out of 5 stars Great sound once you learn how to use them correctly   September 3, 2008

This headphones have an excellent sound quality, the only way you can enjoy the bass in this headphones is by taking some time in trying the different earbuds sizes and inserting them carefully into your ears (if you don't insert them correctly, you will get an oughful sound). Color and style are really good, the neck flexible band is not too big, so this could be an issue for people with big head. Travel case, 3 sizes earbuds and cord extension are adds. Neck band apply enough pressure to keep the earbuds firmly inserted into your ears without feeling any discomfort (once you get used to having the earbuds inside your ears).
