Classic arcade fun May 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I firmly believe that this game really only fully appeals to those that played it in the arcade. Playing on arcade mode with the Wii Zapper makes the game virtually identical to the arcade version, which lends to the nostalgia.
While I don't recommend buying this for $30 even to old school fans, I do recommend a rental. I plan on putting this on a holiday list - again, $30 is too much for a game with the limitations of an arcade game, but I'd love to own it at some point.
Fun, entertaining. But kinda terrible, it's what you'd expect. May 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this game because I have played these games before and never been able to get that far. Also, it was cheap. This game is exactly what you'd expect. It's basically the games that you used to play at the arcade but for the Wii. It has terrible voice acting and even worse graphics, like the originals. But all in all, it's really entertaining. It can be a bit hard, and it's fairly repetitive. There is one defining feature, and that's the "original" game. It gives you power-ups and stuff, but it's basically the same game. So, if you liked the games in the arcade and want to save some quarters, this game is for you. If you can't stand '90s arcade graphics, I wouldn't suggest it.
House of the Dead 2&3 May 9, 2008 0 out of 18 found this review helpful
I rated this so low because I never recvd. it. It got lost between Phila. and where I live by Atlantic City.
House of the Dead 2 & 3 May 7, 2008 I was a fan of the arcade game. So I went ahead and bought the video game for the Wii. It's was well worth the $25. Lots of shoot 'em type action. It's very close to the original arcade game. The Wii zapper gun improves the gaming experience greatly. I highly recommend it.
Great Memories, but FINITE credits?! May 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game brings back great memories. It's great in parties while everyone takes turn using the zapper or just the wiimote to shoot at the screen (JUST LIKE THE ARCADE!) It's pretty much just like the arcades--with bad graphics, BAD VOICE ACTING (so bad that it's so good and hilarious), and just a great time--minus all the quarters that you put in the machines. However! That is a big case in this game. Unless you find the one-time-use only infinite coin in the game, this game has only FINITE credits. That's the one drawback to this game. However, the finite credits may just be only for the HOTD 2. I haven't had the chance to finish HOTD 3--heard there may be unlockable infinite credits, not too sure, but if you research it on the net, there may be ways! Anyway, I still suggest this game, but there is, after all, that frustrating finite number of credits in the end. 4 stars. Happy playing!
