4 out of 5 stars First Person Shooter Success on Wii   December 28, 2007

Until Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, Metroid Prime Corruption was the only quality first person shooter game for the Nintendo Wii, and Metroid is far from the traditional FPS game.

EA does nearly everything right with Heroes 2 for the Wii. It sounds great, plays great, and looks good enough. The controls are the best of the FPS genre on Wii. In my opinion, its as easy as a mouse and a keyboard. After a few sessions, you will surely be deadly accurate with your Wii Remote. The game gives you dozens of options in terms of adjusting your controls, in terms of sensitivity of movement.

I thought this game would simply be lost in the shuffle of WWII shooter games. However, this game manages to stick out because of its unique control system and competitve online play. The online could not have been done better - create an EA account and start playing. The multiplayer offers three modes - Capture the Flag, Team DeathMatch, and DeathMatch. Up to 32 players can be in one room at the same time. Don't see any rooms you like? Simply create your own. EA also offers leaderboards so you can check how you match up to the best of the best. Its that simple. Finally, a game on Wii that does Online correctly. No friend codes, either.

The campaign and arcade mode are pretty solid, too. There is not much to elaborate in this regard, however. Campaign plays almost exaclty like the multiplayer, save a few control switches that are easy to adjust to. The graphics are marginally better in the Campaign, and there are three difficulty modes - easy, medium, and hard. The arcade mode plays exactly how it sounds - like an FPS arcade game you would play at a bowling alley.

This game is not a Halo Killer, and it is not as in depth as Call of Duty 4. However, if you are a Wii owner who has been dying for a solid FPS experience with competitive online multiplayer, then go for it.

4 out of 5 stars Best controls for a shooter on Wii so far.   December 28, 2007

After playing through several other shooters on the Wii, I had high hopes for this title to break the mold and really set the bar for motion controls. In that regard, this title really does shine. Much better than Metroid, Call of Duty 3 and the previous MoH title, with lots of fine tuning available.
In regards to the game play, it is a fun romp through the European theater. It can't compare to titles on other consoles (Halo, CoD4, etc) due to the limited graphics engine, but it's a fun diversion anyhow. The middle difficulty setting is pretty challenging for die-hard FPS fans, but the newbie setting and the Arcade mode both make the game accessible to first-timers.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome game...   December 26, 2007
The online play is so much fun. We were online 3 minutes after opening the box...and quickly got killed...repeatedly...until we gained some experience. The controls and graphics are amazingly good and create an intense experience that is very addictive. Also, get a component video cable for your Wii (it doesn't come with one) if you haven't already got one. They only cost $15 or so and will make the online display better.

3 out of 5 stars A Slightly Above Average Shooter.   December 26, 2007
This is a decent first person shooter and one of the best the Wii has to offer. However, it does not stand out in any way. Personally, I enjoyed the Zapper controls which worked very well. But, the game did not hold my attention for more than a day. The online play is an okay start, but the maps and modes are very limited. Until, they decide to allow voice chat the online games just aren't going to be up to par. Buy it if you love World War II shooters, if not, I say rent it.

4 out of 5 stars Metal of Honor Heros 2   December 23, 2007

When I first saw this game was being released with 32 players online I was amazed. I thought wow even halo 3 can't do that. I ordered this and the day it came I popped it in and was playing online with in 5 min this game doesnt use friend codes instead it uses the EA Nations services using its own servers and not Nintendo's you can create your own server on the list name it what ever you want and add people as friends with out much hasle the only things I dislike about this game are that it lacks 4 player local mode and the chat system is only pre-set messages that you can send to people nothing else no voice chat or other form of communication. Other then those things its a pretty awesome game has good graphics and great controls and game play. Go buy MoHH2 and start playing online today!
