Need these for widescreen. January 28, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
These cables are the official Nintendo cables. They work great. These cables will give you true widescreen (not stretched) for games that support it. They also allow for progressive scan for games that support that. The graphics are somewhat better than with the composite cables for the games that I have used them with.
Works as advertised January 25, 2008 This is actually a Nintendo Brand component cable...the product description implies that it's 3rd party, but it isn't. Quality is first rate (of course) and Amazon's price is amazing...less than Madcatz and others for a better quality cable.
Good Cable January 24, 2008 Better connection for HDTV. The original Wii console comes with a generic cable with 3 inputs (versus 5 on this one).
Great January 10, 2008 I picked up this cable over the mad-catz cable largely because this one is made by Nintendo. The quality is what you would expect (good) and it definitely makes a difference over the standard cable that comes with the Wii. I got it for $20 during one of amazons discount sales, but $27 isn't unreasonable either. The cable is sufficiently long as to give you enough room from your Wii to your tv. Not much else to say-- its pretty much a done deal if you want to upgrade from 480i to 480p.
Fine composite cables, not enough split December 29, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First a couple of words about Amazon. Almost everything I buy here arrives quickly and in great shape. These cables are no exception and work fine but if you plan to connect the video cables to your tv and audio cables to your surround sound receiver, you'll find the split too short and you'll need barrel connectors and a 2nd set of audio cables to use as extensions. That's why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. Honestly I think that you really need to be looking at every pixel to notice any difference between different brands of composite cables. I'm now using Cyclone composite cables with barrel connectors and gold-plated extensions because the Cyclones seem a bit heftier, image on my 50" Sony HDTV is very crisp. Picked up the Cyclones at Circuit City for $25.
