Seems to be better than the built-in mic... April 29, 2007 5 out of 12 found this review helpful
I saw this mic a week ago, in amazon and in the nintendo official site. Based on the reviews, it seems to work better than the built-in mic. I have the Brain age, and when i play the activity where you should identify the color of the word, i end up trying it all over again. Because the mic is located in the middle part of the DS, it is harder to use. I don't have this mic yet, but i hope that it will work really good. I've noticed that the mic is placed closely beside the mouth , so you shouldn't have problems when you play a game where voice recognition is needed. This can work in selected games only (where you need to use voice recognition, blowing, etc.). Look on the bright side, you won't have to shout again and again for the mic to recognize your voice. In nintendogs, you can easily call your dog, ask him to do some tricks, and this can become quite handy, but when you use the bubble blower (in the Toys menu) you cannot blow it because it won't work at all, unlike the built-in mic in your DS. But i prefer to have both microphones because both are useful. Hope my review helps...P.P.8

Voice Helper April 23, 2007 34 out of 39 found this review helpful
With the success of the Nintendo DS, there have been so many different gamers who are now into the use of the WI-FI. However, many gamers have had a very tough time speaking normally into the microphone because of the voice recognition on games like Brain Age, and the Nintendogs series. Thankfully, a new accessory helps you talk easier. This Nintendo DS Headset is easy to use. You place it on your ear, and speak through its microphone. It is easy to use, and works better on games that require the microphone as a tool like in Brain Age, where you have to use voice recognition to speak out words of a color context like blue or red, or in Diddy Kong Racing where you'd have to blow into the microphone to start your hovercraft engine. I really like this because it makes gamers feel more comfortable when playing games that need to use the microphone. This is definitely a great buy for anyone who owns a Nintendo DS. Speak now, and don't stop holding your voice.
