Charge Station July 12, 2008 Its really great, you dont have to keep buying batteries for your Wii remotes. It also doesn't take forever to charge!
Wii Charge Station July 9, 2008 Works well. I had read about some issues with heat, etc. I just put the 'wii-motes' on the charger overnight and take them off in the morning. I've only had to charge them once so far (about a month). The rubber grips are nice as well.
Wii Charge Station July 9, 2008 I have only had the Wii for a few weeks, but not once have the remotes run out of juice. This charge station has been great.
Good, but not great July 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband and I purchased this charging system from our local BestBuy for about $30. We were looking for some sort of charging station for our recently purchased Wii, and this was all we could find in our medium sized town of approx. 100,000 residents. While at BestBuy, we noticed another set made by Nyco that included the charging dock, another sensor, and two new rubber skins; we thought, we have a sensor and the rubber skins, so why would we pay more for items we already have? Yeah, that was a mistake. When we got home and opened up the package, we realized that you CANNOT charge your Wii remote while having the plastic skin on. Yes, we could just play without the skins, but I prefer to have them on. So, whenever we get done playing Zelda or MySims, we have to peel back or completely take off the plastic skin to put the Wii mote in the charging dock, and put it back on before we play again. This is my major gripe with the system. I kinda wish we had bought the other set with the plastic skins (now I know why they come with their own skins, with a hole in the back for the charging area to connect to the dock), but am content with what we have purchased. My only other gripe with the system is how particular it is about the placement of the Wii-mote; the dock wants it placed in exactly the right position, and heaven forbid you try to take one Wii-mote off while the other one is still trying to charge. It takes a lot of wiggling and cursing, but it always works, eventually. To anyone who is thinking of purchasing this item, if you don't use the plastic skins on your Wii-mote, go for it! If not, you might consider something else or buying the set that comes with Nyko's own plastic skins.
Poor battery life, replacements are $10 each July 5, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This product is pretty good, except that the rechargeable batteries have a short life-span (mine lasted only 4 months) and replacements are $10 each, so if you use your Wii about as much as I do, it is going to cost you $60 per year in replacement batteries for 2 Wii remotes. I very much doubt this is a better value than using a general-purpose rechargeable battery in the remote.
