 Ok grip, charger, not so good May 29, 2008
I bought this so I could play some games like Mario Kart or Metroid without getting cramps, the extra battery was a plus.
I can play better when I'm using this and my hands don't hurt anymore, I'm 28 I have big hands.
The extra battery was good at first but the position of the on/off switch made it easy to turn it on accidentaly while traveling. I'm not sure if that was the only reason but suddenly I couldn't get the thing to give me more than a few minutes of extra charge.
If I had to buy another, I would probably go for wider grips for more comfort and no battery option.

Gamestop is selling this for $9.99 only. Will Amazon refund me the difference?
One problem with the NDS game console is being too boxy. Due to the small size, you nervously hold on to it fearing it may slip out of your hands. At the end of a game play, you'll find two big indentations at the bottom of your thumbs. It hurts when you are too tense. With this charger grip, you can relax your hands while enjoying your game play.
The extra power reserve is great too. You will be less worried about charging your NDS everyday because you know that when the red light comes on, you can simply switch on the charger grip and the game continues with only a half second interruption.
It is designed very well because you don't need to charge your grip and your NDS separately. When you plug it in, the charge goes to your NDS first and then goes to your grip later. The charging operation is carefree and the priority was set correctly too.
Of course, the grip makes the whole system a little bulkier and heavier. But it is all worthwhile.
I highly recommend this product because great designs like this are not that common.

On recommendations posted here on Amazon, I found this item at a game store and decided to give it a try. If it hadn't been for the reviews here, I'm not even sure I would have known what it was! But I did and I got one!
I highly recommend it. It really does make holding the DS lite for long periods of time better and as for the extra charge, so far that is working great too.
I have been charging the DS and the charger grip together and they are doing well.
Unfortunately, my DS is crimson and black, so the white charger grip really stands out - but for the absolute comfort and extra power it provides, it has been money well spent.

I'm glad I bought this for my daughter. She plays her DS non-stop therefore, the battery is always dead. It's convenient to have this rechargable battery handy. What's cool is that you can charge the DS and the battery at the same time.

I picked this up for $10 on special at a local gamestore, and I'd say it is the best $10 I've ever spent on an accessory for a game system, portable or otherwise. The double-edged sword of the Lite has always been its size. It's fantastic that it's so small, but it's also murder on adult hands after a while.
So not only does this little device give some great ergonomic grips for the DS, it's a friggin portable charger that uses the DS's own AC adapter. Seriously, I love the people at Nyko. :)
I have been using my DS for a solid 10 hours without plugging it into the wall. I played DQM:Joker till the red power light kicked in, I flipped the switch on the grips which let the DS charge while I played it, when the DS charge light went off, I turned off the grip and continued playing. So basically I got double the battery life, PLUS there's still juice in the grips!
Even Amazon's price of $14 is amazing for such a great product. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it only comes in white, which means my wife's black & red DS has to wait a while for fashion's sake. I have to get back to capturing more monsters in DQM...
