GO ANIMAL CROSSING!!! July 3, 2008 Animal Crossing is an awesome game! There are limited activities, but there is so much you can discover. And there is always the ongoing drive to make your house humungo!
Great family gameplay! June 28, 2008 My 7-year-old daughter and I (36) are loving this game! I even went to the extent of buying another DS and a 2nd copy so that we wouldn't fight over it (and so her little sister could play her own game, too) AND use the DS-to-DS feature to visit each other's towns. She's loving writing me notes and leaving "surprises" buried around town for me to find... I'm enjoying the deeper-level "feng shui" and collecting aspects of arranging furniture and the sense of accomplishment when I pay off my mortgage (only in a game, folks!!) or take a new bug to the museum. Has a great resale/replay value (also makes a great game to buy used) because you can completely wipe old games off the card and start from scratch! I've also used the WFC cross-country, and that's a blast, too!
If you've got a DS, this is a must-have game, period.
What the? June 11, 2008 15 out of 30 found this review helpful
I purchased Animal Crossing about a week ago for my eight year old child. Not only did she love it, I thought it was really cool too. What we realized after a few days of playing was that the characters are not only snarky but down right mean. I'm in shock because my daughter was just called stupid and rude for no apparent reason by one of the characters (Gwen). I've been playing the game with her because I'm very cautious about anything my daughter gets into. I noticed that at any given time, all of the characters can be petty, materialistic, rude and mean. How is this game rated E??? I don't get it. This game is not for kids who's parents teach them manors, respect for themselves and respect for others. Now.........I gave this game one star for fun because other than having to deal with the characters, this game "could" be really great. My rating of one star for overall is based on the fact that I can not ignore the blatant and hostile tone of this game. I will never reccomend it.
Somewhat disappointed June 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I own the original Animal Crossing for the Gamecube system. I really enjoyed the original version. This DS version became very boring within the first few days. The layout of my town sucks. It's much more difficult to earn bells to pay off your house loans. I don't like the changes they've made to the town for example: the town square, Nook's, the tailor shop, traveling to another town, no dump, no Police Station Lost and Found and too many dirt areas (I liked the grass). Some people may enjoy this game...I just can't get into it and am sorry I bought it.
Great game; Great people June 2, 2008 This game is so much fun, and I have gone online and swapped codes with other players and everyone who plays is so nice and friendly...definetly opens the world up.
