Not bad but definitely room for improvement July 16, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Back when the DS first came out, I was eagerly awaiting the release of Tiger Woods PGA Tour for the DS. When it came out soon after, I was lucky enough to get the game on sale. Sadly, it just isn't that great of a game. I can see what the developers were trying to accomplish but rubbing the touchscreen with the stylus isn't a whole lot of fun. It makes it easy to make mistakes and for some reason, I just was never able to get into it that much. Also, although those who only have a DS will probably want to wait for the 2006 version(unless you must have a golf game for the DS), the psp version of Tiger Woods is much better. Also I have had more fun with the gba version of Mario Golf and I would highly recommend that over this. Still, its not the worst game ever made and if you get it with an open mind, you can probably get some enjoyment out of it.
Not totally up to scratch March 23, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Although the method of swinging is very good and is challenging but not impossible, the graphics for the top screen let it down a bit. Some trees and walls look very 'pixely'. The worst factor about this game is the out of bounds, stray too far from the rough along the fairways and you are out of bounds (not like in the ps2 version where you have a good distance to recover from). The sound is very realistic and worth having the volume up. The tour mode is good and the quick play is handy, though another minor downside is that it isn't single-card multiplayer. A good game to buy if you are intresested in golf, wouldn't recommend it for someone who doesn't know about golf that well.
Great game! March 9, 2005 I'm a big golf fan! This game is great. It's graphically pleasing, and has lots of replay value. So far the best portable golf game to date. Can't wait to see the 2006 version next year.
Best golf game ever March 4, 2005 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
My friend lent me this game for a couple of days... after that i directly went to buy it! I love the inovative way they make you swing and rubbing the panel for a boost. I also love the sound, with a good shot the crowd goes wild and the sound of the club hitting the ball is great, not to mention birds chirping in the trees.
I recomend this game to anyone who likes golf and has a DS GREAT GAME
Best hand held golf game - EVER March 2, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a 12 year old son who is a wizard at all electronic games and soundly beats me at all of them, except golf. I have played both the console based golf games and the hand held golf games and I will tell you that this is the best one ever. The other games only require you to read the shot, set the shot and then tap the keys 2 or 3 times to strike the ball. Too easy. This game uses the touch screen and requires you to actually 'swing' the club. The incremental skill required makes this game the only one that provides a challenge.
I have played several of the other DS games and believe that this is the best one in terms of using the touch screen to its fullest.
Before you buy the game, just make sure that you have plenty of time to play it.
