Lego Star Wars on the DS finally done right June 18, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The last time that the mega popular Lego Star Wars series appeared on the DS was also the first time for the series with Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. Sadly, that game was a big disappointment on the DS, but thankfully, things have started anew with Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. With a different development team at the helm, those bad memories of the DS version of Lego Star Wars II become ever distant as the gameplay is re-started from scratch. Playing through all six episodes of the Star Wars saga hasn't been this much fun on a handheld in a while, featuring a very well-designed 3-D engine that runs pretty smoothly (and without any bugs or glitches) and looks pretty good to boot. Everything else about the game, from the emulation of John Williams' classic score to the series' brand of goofy humor, is intact and oh so enjoyable, and wireless co-operative gameplay is a blast as well this time around. If there's any downsides to Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, it's that the game does have an occasional hicuppy frame-rate, and the vehicle-based portions of the game are a little hard to get the hang of at first. All that aside, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is a pure blast, and for DS owning Star Wars fans, consider this an essential pick-up and wipe those bad memories of Lego Star Wars II away.
This game is worth every penny June 9, 2008 Well I just got the game 2 days ago and I must say it was well worth it. I am not even a big star wars fan but when I read that the gameplay in these lego games was very deep and fun I decided I would give it a go. Immediately I found out that everything they say about it is true. The graphics are amazing and the music is perfect. My only gripe is the quality of the cinemas which is subpar. Some of them manage to be funny like they are supposed to even with the crappy animation, but in other cinemas you can't even tell what's going on, or maybe it's just the fact that I haven't even seen all the star wars movies (I know, shame on me). Anyway, this game is a must have, and from what I can tell it's certainly a longer game than lego indiana jones therefore offers more replay value so I would recommend this one in a heartbeat to anyone.
Great Nintendo DS game to play with my son. June 5, 2008 I bought this game with hesitation on how good it would be for Nintendo DS, but it real fun, my son and I are able to link with our Nintendo DS wirelessly and compete againsy each other, there are lots of characters to choose from and lots of events also. I would recommend it.
sets become alive, 3-D like May 30, 2008 Many lego sets have come out based on this. These are probably really fun, so it's cool to see them more 3-D. The bacta tanks,(as seen in ep.5)let you customise characters, and bring your frankin-steins into play! -3PO and R2 do machines, and some let you play mini-games! You can buy extras, play with a freind, buy hints and characters. Find red bricks, earn gold bricks, find canisters, and more. Play levels, touch-screen games, and watch lego sets and mini-figures come to life! Touch machines, pull levers, watch scenes, throw bombs, use the force, and have fun! Enjoy, and c u L8r!
Loved this game April 26, 2008 My 4 yr old son got this for his bday. He learned it pretty quick. He loves it and mom and dad likes it too. Way fun. So many different levels to go to.
