burn the cube! December 28, 2002 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
hi my name is Andrew I am 13 and I got this for christmas and at first I did not know how to be a dragon well the answer is the you have to beat the colecting eggs level then the next level it will say human or dragon (if you you want to be the dragon well the answer is right there) well any way you start out as a jeep then a jeep then a jeep the a fire fighter then a tank then a little buggy and after that you can be a dragon.now on to the tech stuf graphics 10/10 the graphics are great theres smoke and fire the trucks look great and so do the dragons sound 10/10the soud is really good there is the dragons roaring the guns and rockets the flaping of the wings. controls for the cars 9/10 it is just a little hard to target and drive and the same time controls for the dragons 8/10 it is really hard at first but you should be able to get the hang of it loading time 8/10 it take about 25 seconds to load a mission fun 10/10 it is very fun to be the dragons and shoot fire balls streams of fire and pick up trucks and guys and drop them. it is fun to shoot down dragons with guns and rockets and missles it is very fun. What an experience! December 28, 2002 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Reign of Fire is a fantastic game! It has great graphics and intense gameplay. The developers have created a fantastic sense of battlefield carnage and chaos against marauding dragons. In latter levels, YOU get to be a marauding dragon! There are some things you need to know about the controls, which has gotten some bad press. The default is "simple" control configuration. Change this before you even start playing! In this configuration, you aim AND steer with the left thumbstick, and accelerate and decelerate with A and B. The right thumbstick does nothing. We will get nowhere with this set-up. On the other hand, the "advanced" set-up steers with the left thumbstick, and aims with the right. This makes the controls very intuitive. Another thing you might want to do is turn down the auto-aim to zero. Otherwise, the aiming cursor does a lot of drifting, which can be very annoying and make it more difficult. I have very few complaints about the game. The dialogue can get quite repetitive at time, such as when you are not in the spot you need to be. You hear the same sentence repeated multiple times.
Fantastic game for a fantastic film October 12, 2002 16 out of 20 found this review helpful
Hahahaha! Burn humans! That's what you may end up screaming when you play this game. Fantastic graphics, combined with great gameplay make this a brilliant game. Some nice touches, including the very good fire effects. Best aspect: playing as the dragons. Fly around. Pick up people, give them a lift to 300 ft, and then...drop them. Or throw them. Hahahaha! Or....yup. Napalm breath. Burn them. Have fun when you get this game. And you will get it.
