4 out of 5 stars Pretty Good...   December 5, 2006

This is a pretty fun game. All of the modes load quickly and have pretty good graphics. In City Trial free run, there are literally an endless amount of random games that you can come up with. This is definatly a better multi- than single player game. My only complaint is that there are only nine racetracks to choose from in Air Ride mode. Other than this, I can only say that a sequel would be a perfect use of the Wii-mote

3 out of 5 stars Worth the money.............but doesn't catch my eye   November 29, 2006

Kirby air ride hmmmmm. Well The game itself is pretty hard to explain but I can manage it. First off the graphics. Kirby always has been a very colorful well... um how should I say this uh puffball. And his series has been also pretty colorful. Well Nintendo did a good job of showcasing this and the graphics are pretty smooth so I'll give this one to the game graphics- 7/10. Now the gameplay is decent depending on what you like. Air ride is for people who like regular 3-d racing, top ride is for 2-d old school gamers, and city trial is for people who like to collect items and unlockables. The only reason kirby airride lost 2 stars is because the gameplay can get boring after a while , gameplay- 7/10. But believe me I've written worse reviews.

3 out of 5 stars Don't play it alone...   September 12, 2006

Like another game I reviewed recently (SUPER SMASH BROS.MELEE) this is mildly entertaining on single player but is twice as much fun on multiplayer. But unlike MELEE, the graphics here are fairly bland. There are three different ''modes'' to choose from, ''City Trial'', ''Top Ride'', and ''Airide'', all of which are pretty much the same. There are ''mini games'' after you finish each of these courses, such as ''Beat King Deedde''. Like I said in my title, don't play this one alone.

4 out of 5 stars Fun for a While, but Don't Overplay it.   July 30, 2006

I recently bought this game a few days ago and I think it was worth how much I paid for it ($20).

I started off watching the tutorial videos. They explain the game fairly well.

After that, I immediately started playing on Air Ride mode (normal racing mode, sorta like Mario Kart and F-Zero mixed together). I played a few races with my two older sisters. On my monitor, it was kinda smooshed and I think my sisters got the wrong impression, but they said it was too easy and left. They aren't really gamers and just play games whenever I get a new one so don't assume it's a bad game.

I kept racing a while, and realised it was sort of limited. The few levels were nice and the music was cool too, but there wasn't much variety of levels. The unlockable level is short and simple too. There is a good variety of vehicles however (And I still haven't unlocked them all considering how many that I saw in City Trial).

I decided to play Top Ride (A mini-racing game) as well. One of my sisters was waiting for something and decided to try again. She played one round and said bluntly that it was horrible (in different words). I then again played by myself and had some fun. This mode was a bit short, but I still play it sometimes for fun.

Now of course, City Trial. This mode was able to keep my sister playing for a bit longer. We had fun looking at all the vehicles and all of the [somewhat bland] sights. Its a fairly big area that contains lots of stuff, but it gets a little tedious going in the same area a bunch of times. Unfortunately, all of the powerups that supposedly boost your vehicle don't make too much of a difference, except in numbers (people that like comparing high-scores and numbers would notice the difference better than me). The different random events and stadium events (which are what you are mainly powering up for) are nice though.

My sister's opinion? "The only good part about the game."

Later, racing my little brother on Air Ride mode he had to go use the restroom. He was going to stop playing afterwards, but decided to leave the game running while he was away. The bad part is, his character was keeping up pretty well and even almost beat me while I was actually trying to win. I can see why a lot of people say that the game plays for you.

Overall, the game is fun if you are a light/medium gamer, with a bunch of goals to reach, but if you just play occasionally, you will get bored fast. I would recommend not getting it if it costs more than $20. It is definitely worth renting if you don't want to buy it.

3 out of 5 stars Fun but a little too easy to play   July 19, 2006

Like the title says I enjoyed playing the game but I found it just a little too easy to play.
