Product Description NBA LIVE 09 is back. It rewrites the book on authenticity and connectivity - but is still accessible enough for new users. Dynamic DNA emulates - with absolute precision - an NBA player in every sense of the word. NBA LIVE 365 takes the statistical data of Dynamic DNA and brings it to life. Just like the real NBA game, players get injured, free agents sign late, great players go cold and no-names break through.
Player DNA Progression - see the progress and changes to any player's DNA after an NBA LIVE 365 update Player Tendencies - the percentage a player drives left, right or shoots from each spot on the floor Lockdown Control - risk reward system FIBA Expanded - compete in an international tournament using authentic FIBA rosters and a choice of 24 teams Pick and Roll Control - control both the ball handler and the screener 5 vs. 5 Online Team Play - All 10 players on the court can now be controlled by users on 10 different consoles around the world Signature Playcalling - pushes on-court visualization to guide you through the play Online Leagues 2.0 - Create your own league with drafting, trades and a custom playoff format NBA Academy - hone your skills Create your own highlight reel then upload it to EA SPORTS World Quickstrike AnkleBreakers - Force your defender to step up and guess what you'll do next On the cover - Tony Parker - In his 7 NBA seasons, the 26 year old is a two-time NBA All-Star, has 3 NBA championships and was named the 2007 NBA Finals MVP

WORST B-BALL GAME EVER November 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I buy NBA Live every year, and have always been very satisfied with it, always preferring it over 2K. This year's version, however, is a serious disappointment. I have never hated playing a basketball game so much. It is extremely difficult to complete even the most basic pass without it being stolen. Alley-oops are nearly impossible to complete, and even the other team's lowest rated player will easily score 30+ points on you any given night, while you're best player bricks lay-up after lay-up (and this was all done in ROOKIE mode). Definately gonna have to try 2K this year, as EA has put out a serious DUD of a product.
unreadable disk November 10, 2008 Although I do not think it is the fault of Amazon, my xbox has a hard time reading this game most of the time. It says disk unreadable during games all the time. Amazon was nice enough to send me a new game free of charge but the new one freezes all the time as well.
If the game does not freeze though, it is absolutely awesome.
Way better that NBA 2K9! October 15, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I first purchased NBA 2K9 and the game was good but they really messed up the online play from last year. I think they did a horrible job. I traded the game in for NBA Live 09 and I have to say I was not disappointed. I actually think the game is better than NBA 2K9. The graphics are good and the game is way more fun. I have to say I haven't bought a NBA Live game since NBA Live 05 so I wasn't a fan for a few years. NBA 2K9 made me go back to NBA Live 09. I am happy I did. The Live 365 feature is really hot. They also have a practice where a trainer helps you work on your weaknesses. Get this game. You will not be disappointed. The online play is great. Way better then NBA 2K9.
EA blew this big time! October 14, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have never gave a game made by Ea sports a total bad review because I like their sports games of any sport. But this game is absolutely horrible in every way. From graphics to gameplay to presentation they royally messed this one up. I enjoyed and still enjoy NBA live 08 a good solid game but I think they didn't care or was drunk when they put this one together. The NBA 365 concept might be ok but if you don't have XBox live this game is pointless. The graphics are blurred, the players move like they are high on something and you don't feel like you have total control. What happened EA? They fell off the wagon big time here. I'm going to try NBA2k9 I hear it is really good.
Fun Filled October 9, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
So after spending 2 hours in the store debating whether to get the All-Play, 2K, or Live for 360, I settled on the latter. Got home, popped the game in the console and was prompted to update which I did. However since I did not have a online, the OKC team does not have a nickname, a generic jersey, and a generic court. Updating the game on Xbox Live will download the Thunder nickname, jersey, and arena.
Just like all of my other NBA game reviews, here is a list of things video game websites never mention in their reviews. Hope these are helpful:
- There is an edit player in this game, so numbers can be edited, as well as player skills and ratings. However the edit feature is only for the NBA teams and not the FIBA teams. Juan Carlos Navarro is wearing his NBA number, #2, for Team Espana. FIBA only allows numbers 4-15. Other players with wrong numbers are Trevor Ariza (#1 instead of #3) and Mickeal Pietrus (#2 instead of #20) but that's not a big deal. The NBA Live 365 updates will probably take care of those once the season begins. The FIBA is a big deal though.
- Speaking of FIBA, Ricky Rubio is not on the Team Espana. NBA players who have never suited up for their countries for quite some time are on the rosters, therefore knocking out some real players. For instance, Z Ilgauskas (Lietuva), Steve Nash (Canada), Eddy Najera (Mexico), Peja Stojakovic (Serbia), and John Ameachi (UK) are no longer playing for their countries but are still on the rosters!
- The Lietuva away jersey is some weird shade of gray/green and not real green shade.
- Team Mexico's jerseys are decent but not realistic. Also, Adam Parada is dominant inside. It looks like they might have used his performance during last season's PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) as the basis of his ratings.
- The Magic jersey has the real stripes (unlike NBA 2K9) but used the old number font and it is missing the logo on the left side of the shorts. This will probably be updated through Live 365 as well.
- There are no retroes in this game, hopefully they will be made available through future updates.
- For some reason the PA announcer (same PA from 1997, by the way) is not loud and I can barely hear him. I checked the arena volume and commentary volume and both were already set to the max.
- I used the practice mode, called NBA Live Academy, and it was fun testing out plays and running the offense. You can also do plays practice only or a full scrimmage. The practice gym has two courts and the player can shoot at all four baskets. You cannot, however, shoot from one court to the opposite court's basket, which would've been cool.
- Marcin Gortat has a full head of hair in here. Since player appearance can't be edited using Edit player, maybe there is an update later on from Live 365.
- I didn't notice the point guard dominate the ball and the points, unlike last year's game. The CPU also gets the ball to the money players during crunch time.
- Rashard Lewis shoots like the real deal in here, with the high release, and of course, the swishes. Nowitzki looks like a zombie, and a lot of the FIBA people look quite the beasts.
