The Search for the N-Strike Elite Begins... Through the din of a popular arcade, one player has emerged as the best N-Strike gamer his friends have ever seen. But even as Shane smashes through the game's record, something far more mysterious is happening: his success is being tracked and recorded. Shane is the perfect candidate for an ultra-exclusive invitation to become an N-Strike Elite. Later that night, he's awakened to find the Nomad C Series Recruitment bot hovering silently over his bed. "B.O.B." has a challenge for Shane. Join the quest to become an Elite Striker and he'll have access to Top Secret Blasters. It's all the incentive Shane needs, and as the one controlling Shane, it's your opportunity of a lifetime....

3 out of 5 stars Nerf a Blast, but for the kiddos!   November 3, 2008

My boys, ages 5 and 6, desperately wanted this game. We have Nerf Wars at home all the time, and they were originally thinking you shot nerf darts at the tv as part of the game. Anyway, we purchased the game, and they have played it for quite some time. The first thing I noticed is you can not purchase the game without purchasing the kit that includes the "gun" which holds the wii remote. It would have been more economical to have had the choice to leave it out, as the gun makes no difference to the game. Secondly, if you wanted a second gun (we have two young boys!) there wasn't one available to buy. As for the gameplay, there are boy friendly graphics and sounds. You unlock Nerf weapons along the way as you score points. The boys like seeing what weapons they earn and how they fire. If you have problems passing one of the screens, you can go back to choose a different weapon and try again. Maybe you need more firing power or better aim. There are portions where you have to shoot at only certain colored robots and miss the others, as well as a portion that resembles Boom Blox as you topple towers of blocks with your shots. Most of the time we play games as family. This one bored my husband and I pretty quickly, but the boys are still really enjoying it. They don't lose track of time playing it like they do with others, but they do enjoy it. I probably would not purchase it again due to the cost and the game itself, but I would have rented it. In conclusion, not a bad game, but not a house favorite.

UPDATE: Many people have commented the guns are now available for individual purchase. Yeah! Good to know. Thanks!
