Good Buy November 29, 2008 If anyone is looking for a tennis game for the Wii system then this is it. The Wii sports will do fine for anyone who wants a party/arcade experience but this is definately a step up for persons interested in a more pro experience. It has to be played with a nunchuck, i dont see any other way though as you have to control the players movement on the court as well as direct your shot ((it taks a little while to get use to but then it becomes second nature)). The tennis serve is hard to get an ace with but then again so is real tennis !!
Pros Good price Decent graphics ((considering its a wii game))
Cons No left hand play Cannot create players
Overall if you want something more than wii sports tennis then this is it, if you arent up for more of a challenge in this sport then pick another sports game.
Great Game Almost November 12, 2008 This is a Good enough Game and if you want a Tennis Game. The graphics are good, the game play is good - it requires a full swing of the wii remote. You must give the wii remote a full swing, not a jerk like the wii sports - wii sports taught us a poor habit which must be broken.
Here are the problems with the game; 1. Game play is only good under Single Play or Two players on the same side, because it is NOT split screen - and it is too hard to play from the other side of the court. So you can't play a good friend vs. Friend game. 2. The serve is automatic, you only push a button and watch yourself serve. 3. If you swing to late or to early then the character does not swing, this is only a problem because it makes you feel like the controls are not working, it would have been better to let the play swing and miss the ball. 4. After every point there is a little cartoon and you must press the B button to skip it, a real pain (remember this is after every point, so that is a lot of skipping). 5. You must use the nob on the Nuchuck to sway the ball right or left and you can just swing straight down every time while pressing the button to control the ball. 6. Timming is poor, you can swing well before the ball crosses over the net and hit the ball, or swing very fast as it comes in on you and still miss it - which makes it impossible for younger children to play.
Definitly bettar that one star! October 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was not sure if i should buy this game after i saw all of the one star reviews. I bought it anyway, and it sure wouldn't get one star! It is extremely fun and realistic. Some bad reviews said that using the nunchuck was a real nuisance. Wrong. It is actually not that hard, and I didnt think the controlls were akward at all. The player attitudes arent that annoying. You can even skip them if you want. Although the surfaces arent that differant, it is still interesting. They also have different lighting, which makes them differant. You can actually move where you want, and controll where the ball goes. With wii sports you couldn't do that. Some people didn't like that, but I think that is because they aren't that big fans of tennis. it is nice and realistic too. Don't listen to the one star reviews! buy this game! (the player selections are cool, too)
Fun, but needs higher level of difficulty October 21, 2008 When I first got this game, it was lots of fun. But once you master the singles, the game becomes less challenging. Game needs higher degrees of difficulty for singles.
How do you play this game with two people? October 19, 2008 I bought this game recently but I cannot figure out how to play with two persons...that is how to activate the second controller w/nunchuk. Can anyone assist?
