Product Description
Need for Speed : Pro Street is a racing experience like no other. For the first time, you're designing and building a car, competing in iconic locations from around the globe and battling in four distinct racing styles- grip, drag, drift and the all-new speed challenge. The atmosphere is electric - complete with energetic crowds, photo-realistic vehicles and billowing smoke - all designed to embody the pressure and intensity of the gladiatorial challenge known as Show Down. Need for Speed ProStreet is the realization of the power, aggression and rivalry that embodies street racing culture.

1 out of 5 stars two thumbs way down   November 29, 2008
I played NFS Most wanted, and it was the best thing I ever played. So I looked forward to Pro Street and I thought it was absolutely terrible. Don't waste your money.

This could change if undercover is good! Please EA make a good need for speed!

3 out of 5 stars Fun Game   May 8, 2008
Creative game for the import/muscle car lover, a bit challenging for younger players but, detailing/design options vast.

4 out of 5 stars Need For Speed? Yes.   February 23, 2008
If you like speed, drifting, and shifting, this game is for you. I love the features like drifting, drag, and all the other features you have come to love over the years of Need For Speed, but there are definitely a few things missing from this iteration of vehicular madness. One aspect of Need for Speed: Underground 2 and Need for Speed: Most Wanted that I liked the most was the free roam ability. I love cruising around town in order to find shops or races, but I'm just a nerd. What is a huge disappointment about this lack is that there is no pursuit mode. Running away (successfully, sometimes) from the cops has always been one of my favourite parts of the Need for Speed series. Aside from the lack of cops, there are a few other things that keep me playing Most Wanted while my brand new Pro Street sits on the shelf. There is really no such thing as "quick play" you are forced to create an event, or deal with the races you don't feel like doing. I would love to see a quick play where you pick a car, a venue, and a style (drift, drag, circuit, etc.) and just race. All the background garbage in this game detracts from the actual gameplay, which is AMAZING!!! Now that you've read through my garbage, I can tell you how good the gameplay is. The graphics are wonderful, even when compared to PS3 games, and the manual (with clutch) shifting is very cool. The cars are excellent, with a wide variety of muscle cars, rice rockets, legitimate drifters, and others. I especially love the Chevelle, 240sx, and the 'Vette. Overall, this is a fun game, but seems to be aimed at ADD kids moreso than car lovers. If you want a real-life driving simulator, I would wait for Gran Turismo 5 to come out, but if you like the crazy mods and awesome gameplay of Need for Speed, I would recommend it. It's probably the only new PS2 game where you get points for drifting, so I have to love it.
Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars The Big Rave   January 1, 2008
I bought this PS2 game for my son. He also has "Need for Speed 1 & 2". He likes this version as well as the other two. He says it is lots of fun.
