Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility Review November 17, 2008 Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility has many new features that I enjoy, but I feel they aren't executed their the full potential. The festivals, though an improvement, still lack individuality. The wild animals, once obtained, do little and the only options for interacting with them are either to pet them or to walk them. The characters are new and interesting, but more could still be done with them. The storyline is not as essential to the gameplay as it could be. Tree of Tranquility is a fun game, it is an addicting game, but it feels like an unfinished game. There are few things I can actually criticize about the game, but I feel the ranching aspect of it is one. In recent games I have felt that the ranching part of HM has taken up too much time, become too complicated, and lacks the profit that would balance out the time it take to care for the animals. In Tree of Tranquility this had not improved. Also, the wiimote vibration that occurs when brushing, milking, or shearing seems incongruous with the actions that it represents. In fact, I found it so disturbing that I sold my goat. As I said, I have not enjoyed the ranching aspect of Harvest Moon in a while, so this may not bother some one else who has the desire to expand their ranch. Fortunately, there are many other profitable ways to spend ones time in the game. Overall, I think Tree of Tranquility is well worth the purchase, but having seen some videos for Harvest Moon: Exciting Animal March, I do wish that I had saved my money and waited for EAM's to-be-announced release. From what I have seen for EAM, it appears to be all the fun that ToT is but with the polish that it is lacking.
I love this game November 16, 2008 A little hard to figure out at first, but once you get the hang of it you'll be playing it for long periods at a time. Compared to the other harvest moon games this one was alot easier to understand for me. The plot makes sense to the game and it is guided along as you go.
Very fun November 13, 2008 This is a great game with only a few things I would change about it. It is slightly annoying that moving in and out of buildings and moving from one area to another you have to go through a loading screen. It is also very annoying that going into a building or cave does not stop time like in the other harvest moon games I have played. This makes playing the game feel slightly rushed. Other than that I have very much enjoyed this game. I love that I can play as a boy or a girl, even if I can't customize my girls hair or anything. I love that the items in the rucksack are stackable, well most of them anyway. Over all, well worth the money I spent. I can't wait for the next one.

I havent played the whole game through yet,but i found it to be enjoyable, even though a few times i had to consult a walkthrough. i would reccomend this even for non-Harvest Moon fans.
