Xbox 360 is much smaller than its predecessor--it measures approximately 3.3 by 12.2 by 10.2 inches and weighs 7.7 lbs. It's powered by custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU with three symmetrical cores each running at 3.2 GHz. It also carries a custom ATI graphics processor loaded with 10 MB of embedded DRAM, 48-way parallel floating-point dynamically scheduled shader pipelines and Unified shader architecture. This is powerful enough to draw 500 million triangles per second. In other words, it makes for great looking games in standard TV definition, and even better thanks to built-in support for HDTV 1080i televisions. It also supports the widescreen 16:9 format. The unit has a 12x dual-layer DVD-ROM drive, which plays both the game media and progressive-scan DVD movies right out of the box. For game-save and media storage, users can choose between the detachable and upgradeable 60GB hard drive, or a separately sold 64MB flash Memory Unit. Xbox 360 uses a refined button layout for its controllers. Back and Start buttons sit at the center of the controller and between them is a new Xbox Guide button, which instantly takes the user to the Xbox 360 user interface. From there, they can check for friends online, access personal digital content like photos and songs, and more. The black and white buttons of the first Xbox controllers have been replaced with new shoulder buttons placed above the left and right triggers. The Media Experience
All Xbox 360 titles can be played in either standard or high-definition resolution in 16:9 widescreen, with anti-aliasing for smoother graphics.  A great purchase so far November 22, 2008
So far, the xbox has played like it is supposed to. I've been having a lot of fun and i will get my xbox live set up this weekend. I have had it for a month now and it has been very much fun to play. It scratched my disc up a little bit once but only because i took it out before it stopped spinning. it still plays fine but it could have been worse. make sure the disc stops spinning before you press eject and you should be fine.

I purchased this bundle late last month, It arrived on time, no problems whatsoever. This system is amazing, more so now that the NXE (New xbox experience) update is out, the interface is extremely user friendly and there's so much to do without even putting in a disc. From streaming video and music from your pc to your xbox, downloading game demos, creating and customising your avatars, checking out and previewing upcoming games, movies, trailers... just to mention a few things. It'll keep you occupied for quite some time.
For me the 60 gig hard drive is adequate, you really only get 48 or so gigs and change, but that's the case with computers on a whole, so no real shocker there.
Anyone who would've done any research at all would know about the RROD (red ring of death) problem that has plagued the 360 since it's release. The good news is that Microsoft has made some adjustments with the latest batch of 360s that actually looks quite promising. Just make sure your system was made during the last quarter of this year. My system runs rather quietly, I was quite surprised at that after hearing about the 360 being the noisiest system around. It does hum, but not to the level where it distracts or is even noticable. Straight out of the box I've laid the system horizontally and mounted it on a stack of video cassettes so it could "breath" properly and receive adequate ventilation, it even has a dedicated fan on at all times. This really is a system that needs to be cared, so before your purchase put some plans in place to ensure you receive the longest life out of your system.
The games are actually quite nice, Kung fu Panda has a surprisingly deep fighting system... for a childrens' game. The game is alot of fun and the animation is amazing. Lego Indiana Jones is good too, although, in my estimation, to fully enjoy the experience (and the cut scenes) you might need to be a fan of the films. It's pretty straight forward fun for everyone.
Overall I give this system full marks. Being the first out of the blocks when compared to the other two, It's amazing that it holds up so well so many years later. Definitely worth the price.

This product is amazing. The fact that it can be played for 5 hours or more without a break and feel only a little hot is just fantastic. I have good reasons to believe this is the new Jasper Chipset Xbox models.
Also, the extremely well made Xbox360 Dashboard is easy to navigate and has many options. The controller battery life is long, and you can turn on and off the Xbox with it. And just so people know, either way it is orientated (horizontal or vertical) is up to you. It makes no differance.
I am extremly satisfied with this product. I highly recommend it to potential buyers.

I own this system and love it, it is by far the best entertainment system I have owned and I've had them all since the Atari 2600. You can play great games, download movies and tv shows (hi def or standard), and play online against millions of people from all over the world. You can also plug in your ipod and play the music through your home entertainment center. Did I mention you can use it as a Media Center Extender and show all your pictures and videos from your home computer? This system is great and getting better.

I have owned portable CD-ROM players, laptops with DVD players built in, and gaming machines. I have **never** had a disk scratched by one of these players. The Xbox destroyed the first two disks we put into it because we touched the console while it was playing. (I was responsible for the first ruined disk. My sons were mad at me. Ten minutes later one of them ruined a disk!) We've had a gamecube and a Wii and never a problem.
The game store clerks are familiar with this and told us that the only hope is to find a store that does professional disk refinishing (he said the scratch filler they sell won't do the job). The game manufacturers will not swap out a scratched disk.
Leave it to Microsoft. Build a nice gaming console that also destroys your disks. A web search verifies that this has been a problem for over a year and that Microsoft does not consider it a defect.
You've been warned.
