The ps3 is an amazing machine. Don't think of it as just a game console because it does so much more than that. It does a phenomenal job upscaling regular dvd's to be viewed on large screen tv's, it allows you to stream media content (video, audio, web) to your tv wirelessly or wired, it allows you to surf the web, to communicate with other people via web, and it's the best Bluray disk player (it's upgradeable!) around. You can't go wrong with the ps3.

We got our ps3 in February and after only 5 months, we have to send it in for repairs! It wouldn't read any discs, movies or games. I called Sony, they said we'd have to send it to Texas ( I live in Ohio) and get the repairs done and it would be shipped back. Pain in the rear!!! I am terribly unhappy that the unit only lasted this long. I'm feeling like I should have stayed w/ ps2, or gone to Wii. Sony customer service also needs some fine tuning.
Great Blu-ray player. July 21, 2008
I bought this as a blu-ray player and it's been great. The HD quality is crystal clear, dvds load fairly quickly, and it's fun to download the free game demos too even though I don't really play video games.

WoW this is best console to date; this is coming from a person who started off playing Combat and ping pong on the Atari and graduated to the Commodore 64.
Key features:
*Great graphics
*Wireless access for both the control and internet access
*All the added options; Playsation store; internet browsing; messaging, Blue Ray (HD TV) etc..
Only one disadvantage I found is the size and weight; it is humongous and weighty
The graphic are mind boggling; I have only played Call of Duty 4 and can't wait to see get FIFA 09.
This thing Sell off; that sums it up.

Its amazing, this thing can make a lot of thing the OS is very stable, the games are incredible, not like wii, the only thing i dont like its the internet explorer, i use it to watch anime and it works fine, even if its in .avi, it almost never fails to read a video, only fails if the codec its very weird or new.
The control battery life is very long and the range too, finally, a great machine, i recomend it!.
pD: It does read psone games, but doesnt read ps2.
