 Pretty, but didn't live up to expectations September 9, 2008
I bought this product thinking that it was going to be the most awesome NDS case ever considering all of the glowing reviews and high marks. I have to admit that the case itself is attractively true-to-color (compared to its picture), the feel is pleasantly smooth to the touch and the case is light. It adds a little bit of bulk, but not so much that it's annoyingly noticeable. It is made up of two parts, the frontplate which clips onto the top "flap" and the, backplate that clips onto the bottom "flap". The plates do not cover the hinge area of your NDS.
For my set of plates, the top plate fits perfectly, but the bottom plate does not fit. It is too small and the ridges on the backplate that are supposed to clip over the edges of the DS don't quite reach the edge and push into the side of my DS, leaving unsightly marks. Also, the color is not actually a part of the plastic. It is painted onto the plastic plates, so any scratches will cause the clear plastic to show through the paint.
Lastly, Joytron is a Korean company that is new to the US market. Included with your package is a notice that informs you that if you send them the links to 5 reviews you have published online and they deem your reviews (and I quote) "acceptable", they will send you a free product of your choice. This, according to them is to spread the word about their company. Sounds more to me like bribing customers to write wonderful reviews that will get an untapped, unsuspecting pool of customers to buy their products.
It may be that my case was an anomaly and the majority of other cases do not have this problem. However, I don't want another product from them (my review is probably not "acceptable") and I wanted to let people know that they are probably seeing biased reviews.

i recently purchased a DS and ordered the joytron soft-feel case in green, mostly because it was pretty, albeit a bit pricey compared to other cases. however since using it i have been pleasantly surprised by its quality and durability. first of all, it is very slim. unlike many of the harder cases on the market, it doesn't add a cubic centimeter of space to my DS, which keeps it compact and comfortable in my hand. on the note of comfort, the soft feel texture is quite pleasing, it doesn't feel like plastic at all. the color is bright and metallic, which is nice in an aesthetic sense, and the nuritech website offers a good variety of colors and finishes to fit your mood. so far, the cover has been highly resistant to scratches and dirt. despite heavy use in all environments, there is not a scuff or smudge anywhere on the case - unlike most plastic and silicone cases. it snaps on and snaps off easily, as well, and leaves all of your ports conveniently uncovered. the only complaint i would have is that it does not cover any part of the inside of the DS, like most silicone cases do, which makes me worry about the area that comes into contact with my fingers getting damaged, but beyond that this is a great item. i would definitely recommend buying it to anybody who has a DS and would like to keep it in good shape, or simply wants to freshen it up with a new color.
