Product Description Why just watch NFL football on TV when you can take an active role in the game with Madden NFL 08 by Electronic Arts? Madden NFL 08 lets you control the running game like never before. Step up as the lead blocker to create a hole, then take control of the tailback and smash through, overpower, or slash away from would-be tacklers as you fight for every yard. Innovative rushing controls give you a game-breaking ground attack featuring all-new jukes, cutbacks, and the distinct running styles of your favorite backs. Between the tackles or in the open field, run to daylight with Madden NFL 08. Bust out player-specific running styles matching those of real NFL players (e.g., smaller backs slash to break tackles, while bigger runners bowl over defenders in the open field). All-new jukes, cutbacks, and power moves Scout collegiate prospects with the all-new NFL Draft Scouting System Watch players impact their teams with the new Franchise Player Roles feature Use actual plays from your favorite team's defensive playbook to shut down the running game, pressure the quarterback, or force key turnovers

Amazin game September 27, 2008 i bought this game a year ago. i update all the rosters too. it also has brett favre so you can move him to the jets. in 09, there aint no favre. to me, there is no reason to by 09. just a waste of 50 bucks. love the minigames. alright graphics. get this instead of wasting your money on madden 09 "all play". there is actually "all play in 08 too. its just its called familly play.
Active September 15, 2008 If you are looking for this game to be like the other Maddens you will be suprised. Couch potatos will NOT like this one as you will be active.
Awesome September 12, 2008 Awesome game, very fun to play, like the real thing, Wii Games are the best.
ALzheimer's disease? September 7, 2008 I picked up Madden '08 when it was marked down after '09 was released. I love playing the franchise mode and shaping "da bearsh" into a champion. I simulate home games and play road games and love the hands on feel of running a franchise.
The problem I keep running into though is that a quarter of the way into my first season and I keep getting jacked around manually saving. I've tried everything including purchasing a new memory chip in case that is what the problem was. Luckily, I have been keeping a back-up but it is UNBELIEVABLY frustrating to have to keep working around these damaged save files.
I do not play the game for the thrill of the playing. I play it for the institutional memory the franchise mode gives. Madden '08 seems to have been born with an advanced case of Alzheimer's. There is absolutely no excuse for this and EA sports should be ashamed. You should spend your money elsewhere.
Controls need some work August 10, 2008 I want to start by saying that the game itself is pretty good, and the Wii-exclusive features (2v2, telestrator, etc) are a definite bonus.
That said, the controls for the Wii are a let down. I have been an avid Madden fan since 1999, and every year, the controls get slightly more complex, but they build upon the previous year's controls. While Madden 08 for Wii has all the new control features, the controls themselves are complex and difficult to learn , and I feel they really take away from the game.
All in all, Madden 08 is a great game , but get it for 360, not Wii. In the future I am hoping to see support for different types of controllers, perhaps GameCube. If we're really lucky, maybe Wii will introduce a modern controller to compliment the classic controller.
