Product Description Garfield's Nightmare is a 2.5D side-scroller that features platforming gameplay with gorgeous graphics. See your favorite fat feline, Garfield; trapped in lasagna, pizza and donut induced nightmares. A severe case of over-indulgence before bed leads to a dream so bad he can't wake up without piecing together his smashed alarm clock to free him from his fretful slumber. The goal for each level is to travel from one side of the game world to the other. In-between this, you'll need to collect various items and kill bad guys that generally pose little threat to your progression. Enemies and crazy challenges litter your path so think fast and play smart to save the day and night for Garfield. Help Garfield maintain his energy level by collecting lots of tasty food throughout the game including donuts, and of course, lasagna

Garfield Nightmare September 16, 2008 This game has made me a crazy person. Everytime I get to level 3 I can't get any further. It keeps me going just because I refuse to give up to a stupid game. I wish that the instruction booklet had been more specific as to the different levels & how to get to them easier.
Fun, just wish it was longer! August 7, 2008 This game is a blast and well worth the $15. Awesome 3D graphics, challenging but not ridiculously hard. The kids and I had to fight over it! Unfortunately, I beat the game after only having it for one week. I was disappointed because I thought there were more levels. There are only 4 main levels, each divided into 5 parts. The 5th part of each level is when you fight the boss. To the reviewer who thinks this game can't be beaten: yes it can. It's tricky, but you've got to stand right next to the big snowman to avoid his snowballs. Then as soon as he throws out a penguin, jump on it and use the leverage to jump onto the snowman. Even though it's a bit short, I still recommend this game to adults and kids who love Garfield!
Really fun game June 26, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Garfield's Nightmare is a real fun game. It is just kinda hard. I know what to do and everything. It is good for 8 and up. I am 9 years old and i understand it perfectly. If you loose nine lives then you have to start over.
Yay Garfield! June 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have only had this game for a little while but I am enjoying it quite a bit. I am just going to list some of my personal pros and cons.
Pros
- Interesting and fun worlds each level seems to get harder as you go instead of being random.
- It's classic Garfield, how great is that.
- Easy to master movements, but the game does not become repetative or simple.
- This game actually requires some skills and co-ordination and definately some attention to timing those jumps.
- There is hints within the game, but they do not remove the challenge.
Cons
- Why can't he climb? Well as far as I've gotten he can't. Really that would make this game really interesting if Garfield was able to climb, at least in some levels. (and if you are a Garfield fanatic like I am you might also note that climbing would be a bit more realistic for the Fat Cat cause he can't even jump onto the kitchen table, but he can climb up the wall and hang upside down from the ceiling.... Of course the premise of the game is Garfield's nightmares...)
- The orientation and controls of the mini games are a bit annoying. Not to mention the mini games are a bit lame.
- I wish that Garfield actually had a bit more shape to him. I've gotten used to him looking like a simple cg animation, but I think he could use more than just simple shapes for his composistion. Or at least a bit more rendering... I'm just not used to seeing and orange marble for a Garfield head.
- The biggest problem I have is dying too quickly. And I will admit that I am not the best gamer, but I am by no means a newbie either. I have one piece of pizza and over 100 doughnuts... and you need pizza to keep going cause pizza = life. And unfortunately pizza is hard to find and there is like one piece per level and then you can't hold more than 4 ( I think) and if you get more those are converted to doughnuts.... I don't think that was thought all the way through.
Well that's pretty much it. All in all, I like it. If I had played it before getting it I may have waited longer to get it, but I still would have ended up purchasing it.
Fun, but game cannot be beaten. June 8, 2008 I had fun going through all the levels but I think the boss level on level 4 is rigged against being beaten. In fact I think they start to rig it to take lives on the 4th level. I got taken out when I wasn't even touching anything dangerous. All you had to do was to be near it. Also, sometimes when you try to jump to avoid danger nothing happens. I believe that there's no way this game can be beaten.
