The amusing Captain Jack Sparrow slashes his way into the adventure when the heroes arrive at Port Royal. The game is a must-have for Disney fans, Square fans or any roleplaying enthusiast. Brand new transportation system that takes Sora and friends from world to world in the style of theme park rides. Cameo appearances by popular Final Fantasy characters. 5 out of 5 stars Great game, need final mix.   October 1, 2008
If you played the original KH then you'll love this game. It has Sora, Donald, and Goofy with all there clever attacks and fun dialogue. Excellant story, awsome characters, and great gameplay will equal one happy rpg fan. With that said, anyone knows where I can purchase the final mix?

4 out of 5 stars Second is the worst, First is the best?   September 28, 2008
When I finished the first Kingdom Hearts I eagerly awaited until amazon sent me the second, but I didn't get what I expected. For some reason I thought it would be the exact same gameplay with a continuation of the story. Only I soon realized that it was completely different game, and I contemplated putting it away and never playing it again.
I gave it another shot and really got into it. All I had to do was separate one from the other, and the last battle with Xemnas was twenty times harder than the Ansem boss battle (which is a good thing). I will always like the first game better, but i'm glad I got past the differences and played Kingdom Hearts II.

5 out of 5 stars Hands down: Best Game Ever!!   September 4, 2008
I loved the first Kingdom Hearts game. Loved the characters, loved the plot, loved the gameplay, so I was really excited for the sequal. I'd give this game a much higher rating, if possible. This one seems less pointed at young children than the last (Sora finally acts his age!!) I'll go over what I think are the 3 most important things to go over in a game: Gameplay/Battle System, Characters/Plot, and Graphics/Sound/Glithes ect.

Gameplay/Battle System:

The gameplay was great! Not for one moment did I get bored or uninterested. And the battle system is MUCH more efficient than KHI (Sora still has all the same magic powers, except "stop"). You use "Reaction Commands" by pressing the triangle button, and it'll let you perform certain attacks against an enemy that will make fighting it much easier. Also, Sora has "forms" in this game, 5 of them, to be exact. While using forms, Sora's clothes change color and he gets 2 keyblades. To use forms, you must give up one or 2 members of the party, but it's well worth it. Sora's 5 forms: Valor, Wisdom, Master, Final, and Anti-Form
Valor: Give up Goofy for this form, my personal favorite, mainly based on Air Attacks.
Wisdom: Give up Donald, I personally don't use this form much, mainly based on Magic attacks
Master: Give up both Donald and Goofy, very powerful form. I don't use it much, though
Anti: Sometimes, when you go to use a form for the second or third time in a battle, Sora will turn into "Anti-Form" resembling Shadow Sora from Neverland in KHI. Kind of a useless form in my opinion
Final: You have to unlock this form in a special way, but it's by far the best one to use. Instead of running, you hover in the air, and your 2 keyblades float behind you. This form can be rather complicated to use at first.

Characters/Plot:

Yay, the characters finally look and act their age!! Sora gets rid of his rather goofy looking clothes early on in the game, and all the other characters (Except Goofy and Donald) have new attire. It brings back most of the KHI characters (only really missing minor roles like Tidas and Wakka), as well as many new characters (most of which are introduced in Chain of Memories, the GBA [and PS2 for Japan] game in between KHI and KHII) My personal opinion, though, is that there are a few too many Keyblade holders, I don't want to say who in order not to give away spoilers.
As for the plot, I liked it much better than in KHI. It's more epic, and darker than the first. You have more than just the overwhelming loads of heartless to battle in this game, brand new enemies called "Nobodies". I was a bit confused during the prolouge of the game (because I never played Chain of Memories) but that added a fun plot twist. The plot never got boring to me, and I always wanted to know what happened next. I think I only really got stuck on 2 bosses, but eventually passed them. So, very fun and entertaining plotline. And the characters are still great!

Graphics ect.

The graphics are simply AMAZING in this game, especially for 2005. For those type of things, Square Enix really goes all out. And the graphics are breathtaking on a PS3. The water in the beginning of the game looks real, and you can see depth and lines so clearly, you'd swear it's almost real.
I was suprised at finding no glitches in the game, even after playing it many times.
As for Voiceovers, AWESOME job!! They brought back the same people to play Sora, Kairi, and Riku (I cannot even start to tell you how pleased I am with this: there's nothing that bothers me more in a game series than a character voice change) and they still did absolutely wonderful!

So, I would definately recommend this game for anyone who wants an RPG game with excellent gameplay and great characters. Of couse, I would also recommend playing KHI first, as well as Chain of Memories, if possible.
